A few questions,
1. What have you tried?
2. What were the ones you liked the most? and why?
3. What were the ones you liked the least? and why?
Feel free to share any pics of the drinks/drink collection.
Being a broke college student i have only tried a few Bond drinks )
1. Red Stripe, Heineken, Smirnoff Red, Jack Daniels, the Macallan, Vesper Martini.
2. really liked Red Stripe because its just a great tasting beer and didnt really dislike any of the others they just didnt really stand out to me, but naturally the Vesper was a very strong drink.

-The very first alcoholic drink I ever had was I a Vodka Martini- shaken not stirred. Probably a bad idea for my first drink!
- When we wrapped on the Bond inspired music video I directed, myself, my fiancee and Rich (who was playing "The Rebel Spy") has Vespers. My fiancee drank the far too much and very ill.
2. What were the ones you liked the most? and why? Heineken beer.
3. What were the ones you liked the least? and why? "Red wine with fish". I don't like red wine.
I too hate red wine and have to do a "Red" Grant having white. )
I think you'll find that Red Grant had red wine with fish ...
I don't really have too much of a passion for champagne ... and certainly not the vintages that Bond drank. And I certainly can't get close to many of the vintage reds which were expensive at the time.
Interesting comment earlier about Kina Lillet. I enjoy a Vodka Martini (I note that Bond never called it a Vodkatini which is its more accurate moniker) with modern Kina Lillet. I love the passion with which we rationalize Fleming's error/adventurism.
) Yes , I realised my mistake later while walking the Dog. ;%
So I'll try again, If eating steak or such I have white wine, or Henieken )
Now why is that?
You do realize that in the novels, Bond mostly drinks whisky/whiskey/bourbon. He also drinks beer quite a lot. And eats sausages and potato salad (well not at the same meal).
Chapter Grand Turismo in On Her Majesty's Secret Service: "Bond was not a gourmet. In England he lived on grilled soles, oeuf cocotte and cold roast beef with potato salad." And in the chapter called "Happiness Without a Shadow?": "It was graceful and simple and the taxi-man was also in favour, so the deal was done and the two men went off to celebrate at the Franziskaner Keller, where they ate mounds of Weisswurst and drank four steins of beer each and swore they wouldn't ever fight each other again." So Bond celebrates getting engaged by drinking beer. There are also plenty of other instances like in the "Living Daylights" where he eats herring and drinks beer and schnapps.
So beer is very much in DNA of Ian Flemings James Bond. {[]

True, but not at the same time! I think he drinks beer and eats German sausage with an ex-Luftwaffe pilot in OHMSS, while he eats potato salad with ham or cold roast beef in one of the early novels (Moonraker or Goldfinger maybe?)
Funny thing about Fleming's writing:Bond could have eaten a Big Mac and Diet Coke, but Fleming would have made it sound like the height of sophistication )
Damn you're fast.
You had posted that before I could edit my own post!!!!
) ) ) ) About the BM and DC comment! Hilarious but true to the word!!!
Oh just realized: I've done both of those things. In München, although I did not go to the Zum Franziskaner but Hackerhaus in Sendlinger Strasse, I had weisswurst and beer (5 not 4 and I got to say I was pretty tight after that) adn I was not in presence of pilots of any kind as far as I know. Also I had herring sour cream and onion rings with beer and schnapps, but that was not in Berlin but in Travemünde, and I can't remember for the life of me what was the name of that place that I went to.

Had to call a friend and make sure: I.W. Harpers Kentucky straight bourbon. My friend couldn't remember where he got it, bourbon is very rare find in Finland both in government monopoly shops as well as in restaurants and bars. Well if you don't count Jim Beam that is.

As for best... anything with whiskey wins with me. I enjoyed the vodka martini, but I prefer it MASH style.. gin and almost no vermouth

I have never, ever experienced any book in this way, it felt as it were alive!!!!
Now writing this here I feel like an ass, but that don't matter, because I am one.

My parents like their wine and though personally I don't know much about it, I do like it. I never used to like red but I eventually converted. However I haven't touched a drop since New Year's Eve 2011 when I rather over-indulged due to our friend's magnificent collection of the stuff... I miss it though so am thinking of starting to drink it again, once I'm at home to access my parents' wine rack!
I'll class anything else I've tried under 'sparkling wine', to be accurate. I adore it. I usually only have one or two glasses which means I value it even more. However, I got drunk on a rather good bottle last year and it was magnificent. Last Christmas Day it was all I drank (until we ran out...) and I would love to try some of the more expensive types that Bond drinks.
My father presented me with a vodka martini one boxing day when I was about 15. Having only really drank beer, alcopops and wine before, I found it incredibly strong and really difficult to drink! I went into a casino not long after Skyfall came out though and ordered one. My palette much widened since then, I really enjoyed it.
Straight vodka is something I would like to avoid.
I tried ouzo for the first time on holiday in Crete and loved it. I think the taste is fantastic. We went to Corfu the following year with friends and all had it there. They bought a bottle back and so we all enjoyed it back home.
Although I still can't decide whether I like Bond drinking it, I am very fond of Heineken.
Nonetheless, I enjoyed them very much. Very strong and fantastic flavours. I had them at a restaurant that does Mexican, Brazilian and Cuban food and drinks. Friend and I have already planned when we are going back.
