I wouldn't mind seeing a competent hitman working for the main villain who appears frequently throughout the movie trying to pick off Bond. Someone in the mould of Necros from TLD perhaps but with more formidable skills. Bonus points if there's a scene of him using a sniper rifle against Bond, similar to the scene in the first Bourne film.
    No milk bottles, though. :007)
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

Why the bloody hell not? In the immortal words of Arnold, DO EET, DO EET NOW!

Exactly, the franchise is rebooted. With male M, miss Moneypenny, and all. In this universe he started as 007 in CR. They have now the chance to pull it off. Who wouldn't go see an updated GF, OHMSS, etc, with Craig? Christopher Nolan didn't say, "nah who wants to see the Joker again? Nicholson played the Joker".

Great! I can see the scene with the sniper rifle aiming at Bond. We don't see the killer, just Bond throug the telescopic lense,...or even better, through the rifle barrel. Bond walks a few steps, suddenly turns and fires. As this is a subjective shot, we could see blood dripping and...wait. Where did I see this before? another movie maybe? :D

Brilliant idea! I can think of no better way to start a movie.

I had an absolutely brilliant idea for introducing the gun barrel at the
Start of QOS. Had to do with Bond setting up Mr White to go for an empty
Gun, as Bond shoots him he falls across a projector, projecting the round
White spotlight onto Bond holding the smoking gun, as White's blood drives
across the lens. Giving the gun barrel opening.
I remember many people lifting me high on to their shoulders, and carrying me
Through the streets, there was much singing, dancing and love making that night !
Sadly in the morning the drugs had worn off and I couldn't remember any if it. :# :))

Right! to start a movie, not to end it though...that would be kind of silly.

I would not like to see ANY remakes, but especially no remakes of films that I think we're brilliantly made in the first place (e.g. GF and OHMSS). I'm all for the return of some of the Bond formula elements, but with brand new stories.

Some Bond films can be said to have been remakes in the sense the basic storyline are fairly simmular (GF and AVATAK) If we look at it that way we may get remakes in the future. Remakes of the strictest sense will hopefully never happen.

Thankfully as in "thankfully I will never have to see a remake of OHMSS with a real actor like Daniel Craig playing Bond and as masterfully updated as CR?". I honestly hope that EON change their minds and try it at least once. Actually apart from the scenes from short stories included in the 80s, and CR, the rest have been all brand new stories since TB.

A movie like YOLT or TMWTGG could be made using the actual book story without being a 'remake', don't you think?

Exactly, they just used the title. And being picky, the only actual novels that were filmed were DN, FRWL, GF, OHMSS, and CR. The rest were pretty much new but for a few scenes and characters.

I agree that Daniel Craig is a clearly better actor (and a better Bond) than George Lazenby, but I honestly believe OHMSS is fine just as it is and I would not like to see it remade. And unlike some of the other Bond films, OHMSS actually sticks pretty close to the novel. As for the notion of making future Bond films out of material that appeared in the novels but was not actually used in the films (e.g. YOLT or MR), I'm not totally opposed to the idea. But I think it could be confusing to the general public if, for example, they are expecting an actual "remake" of MR and they see a movie with no tricked out gondola, no space battle, no Jaws, etc. Or maybe not! :))

    Memory is short for casual fans. Only us hardcore-ers would probably even know the difference; it would be like having multiple versions for us & all new movies for the general public. -{

Don't get me wrong, I love OHMSS as it is. And DN, FRWL and GF, and you have definitely a point. But just think about it in the context of the franchise reboot from CR-SF and new audiences. In the new universe, none of the novels after CR happenned.
We know those films are classics, but EON needs to attract new audiences and a film like DN, great as it is, is over 50 years old and it shows. Seeing the epic job they did with CR, I can only imagine what an amazing movie they could do with DN.

I definitely don't think if they remake TMWTGG audiences would go "hey, where's Sheriff Pepper??". No way. I didn't see anyone complaining about Evelyn Tremble not appearing in CR.

Well IMO the CR scene worked on film because of the "scratching my balls" line; the sudden gallows humour throws the audience for a loop, with Bond acknowledging the absurd/humiliating circumstances of his suffering at the hands of Le Chiffre (also a very British SAS thing to do, which is fitting). I think a similar scene would have to be handled with dark/disarming humor.

Although if Bond was being tortured for fun or as an experiment ( Col Sun)
I don't think anything would really work. I do think it could work with a villain
Who is quite suave and friendly, then in a flash his mask drops and we see
A violent/ unstable side. As the familiar Bond meal with the villain turns
Very nasty. After Bond gets his finger Broken and shows he's not frightened
Of the villain, he'd force Bond to cooperate by picking up the carving knife from
The table and threaten the leading lady. :)
Tarantino, would do a great job with it. :))

I would like to see the return of the cartoon type movie poster with scenes from the film in the backdrop like the good old days.
