    We need a FYEO

It seems we have come to a parting of the ways! I strongly disliked FYEO.
A 'disco sucks' dude to the end, huh? :))

There isn't much that I don't want at the moment, but I do have a few things. While I wasn't bothered by the origin stuff at all whatsoever, I do think we should stay away from the origin stuff. Bond has now become Bond and we now have a lot of the pieces in place: M, Moneypenny, and Q. Another thing for me would be to NOT have M in the cross fires again.

As for what I DO want....well, James Suzuki's post pretty much took the words out of my mouth.
...Let's hope I wasn't kissing you when it happened.
ANYWAY...thank you for all those people who like my post

Well, I cannot stop loving it, I use to have a major crush on Carole Bouquet when I was younger and I just love the whole feel of the film. What I was saying as I want to go back to that feel (Not the score obviously) but I thought it had the right amount of funny moments and serious action.

In a perfect world I would love not to see anymore product placement, especially shots of mobile phones or electronic devices. I mean what were those ridiculous Heineken TV commercials about on the run up to launch? It's worth noting how sought after the Barbour jacket was despite the fact Barbour wasn't placed nor pushed in SF.

I bet there's not a soul who wants one of these pieces of headgear as seen in the Heineken clips though...

I want to see Bond stay in a hotel room and first check the place for bugs/microphones with a bug detector concealed in a hair brush like in LALD.

I would like to avoid another Bondcentric plot, where it's all about him, but that's a vain prospect. I'm sure many of us recall the times when it was Bond's world that was interesting, and he was more of a cipher, albeit in a nice line of clothes and wry sense of humour. It was the villain that was the star, and in SF you're not sure who is more important, Bond or the villain, it all seems a bit cramped to me.

Like, we used to get Dr No or Goldfinger or TB - named after the villain or villain's project. Now it's all about Bond - Skyfall.

With all do respect, why are you even watching a Bond movie? Of course it is about Bond. Fleming wrote novels about James Bond. What I am missing?

I can't speak for Nap, but I suspect that what he is getting at is he wants the focus to be Bond's mission and how he accomplishes it, as opposed to the focus being on Bond's personal feelings, Bond's redemption, Bond's conquering of his demons, Bond's exacting revenge, etc.......you get the picture.

I'm fine with the Craig Bonds thus far. However, it appears Nap is looking forward to something a little different next time and I was trying to shed a little light for perdogg.

Here's what I DO NOT want to see in Bond 24-

No gadgets. That's so Tony Stark.

No crazy strong or quirky thugs/henchmen. We know now that those types are impossible to effectively employ or control.

No gun-barrel in front or AT ALL. Bourne never needed one; why should Bond?

No shagging girls that go on to live. What we love dies, deal with it.

No Bond theme all over the place- what is this, the Sixties??

No secret lairs. All bad guys perform their evil out in the open these days.

No cars that have guns or rockets or s**t in them- that's what tanks are for.

No fight scenes in exotic locations, cliffs, trains, space, underwater etc.

No world or extensive social threat scenarios please! World economy flattening & global climate change is enough for that- let Bond deal with personal crisis & revenge.

No PPK!!! It's a crap weapon now! One word>GLOCK!!

    No tux, ....ever.... AGAIN!!!

No puns, double-entendres or witty sarcasm. Good double-0's do their job without emulating Spider-man or Schwarzenegger.

No car chases- it make MUCH more sense to call ahead for simple roadblocks from local Police departments.

There. I think I covered it all.

I feel that as far as this is concerned I'm on the same page as Nap, and you capture the position elegantly. perhaps an example may help. My particular fear is that 24 concerns itself with the circumstances of Bonds parents death, and somehow Bond gets embroiled in its repercussions. imagine the emo inner focus Mendes could wring out of that...please no, it keeps me awake at nights...

I want to see Bond engaged in actual spying. Dead drops, cut outs, surveillance, false flag operations, etc. There was a fair amount of this in Dr. No and FRWL, but then the series moved away from it.

One more - No Bond. He's not essential to the story anyway! :))

I want to see if DC can play something other than angry Bond. Some of the witty reparte we saw in CR, instead of the 'I'm pissed, so you die, too' routine. This is his chance to redeem himself in my eyes.
Beg your pardon, forgot to knock...

Just watched Thunderball while doing the ironing. Lol.
Do we want to see DC in underwater sequences or rather on skis?
Either would be fab in my opinion.

    True, but has Bond been mountain climbing before (apart from HTTK by Raymond Benson)? It was a Fleming past-time after all. -{

That was more cliff-edge climbing, though. I mean summit climbing etc. through difficult terrain. I'm speaking as a dedicated hill walker myself here!

Or on water skis above the water!

As a dedicated water skier myself, this is a great pastime that I think we have only seen on screen twice....once with Bond barefoot skiing behind an aeroplane in LTK, and Fatima Blush water skiing into Bonds arms in NSNA.

I would love to see a Bond movie with a villain who into Satanism and the other occults, more so than what we saw in LALD. The Villain would carry out assassinations as part of sacrifices in order to bring upon the earth a Satanic rule. I would keep a bit more low-ketyed than what is being presented in order to keep it in the Bond-genre. He would also use the Iching to guide his decisions.

Yes, that's right. It's all got more introspective, and Bond's backstory in SF is seen as more important than the villain's ditto really the last few movies. Okay, it's a reboot so I guess it would be. It also echoes Bourne, where it is all about him.

Maybe that's the past you can never go back to... but I prefer Bond to be taking something down, taking the mickey out of the set-up, rather than being the set-up.
