It's just occured to me that I've never seen an Austin Powers movie

I've never felt the need to watch such a broad satire of Bond. Am I alone in this? And for those that have seen them, are they funny at all? Or just cringeworthy?
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

Dull is what I'd call them. Don't bother.

    Amazing films!
You'll love all the big and subtle references to Bond.
Mike Myers is a huge 007 nut.

... for subtle, read 'in your face'. There is no subtle in them when referencing the Bond franchise. It's what they are based upon. Childish and dull!

I think they are hilarious! Worth at least one watch. As a trilogy they get worse and worse but there is enough funny in them for it to be worth it IMO. I remember before I first watched them I was scared and put off by how much Bond spoof would be in it and of course there is a lot but it's so blatantly all in good humour that I just love it. It's taking the mick, not the piss if you know what I mean? I'd say go for it! :)

I loved all three. The third is the weakest of them all, but the first 7 or 8 minutes of the 3rd one is probably one of the best (and funniest) opening sequences to any movie I've seen. Nobody give it away.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

By subtle I mean only references that a hardcore Bond fan would get and that general joe public wouldn't. Such as:
Dr. Evil wearing the same radiation suit as Dr. No at the end of the 1st movie.
In the hot tub Allota Fagina says, "In Japan women come second," to which Austin Powers responds, "or sometimes not at all." A reference to You Only Love Twice.
The whole end sequence with Random Taslk pretending to be a waiter plays out almost exactly the same as DOF.

It's a shame you don't like Austin Powers ASP9mm, but each to their own.
I have as much love for the character of Austin Powers as I do for 007, so much
so I play Austin Powers at events. See:

Funny films, -{ The third one is the
weakest in my opinion. But all worth
    a watch at least. :))

Don't worry too much about him
He has no humor and no success with the ladies :D and a very small 8-) :D

What I like about the A. Powers movies is, that 007 fans find a lot of these pleasurable hommages all around, but the no- insiders also can enjoy them.

    And the Burt Baccarach appearance always gets me a tear in my eye -{

Give them a go, the first two are worth it. it might help if you regard them as I do as more of a spoof on the 60's copy-cat movies like Flint, or Matt Helm rather than Bond. There are as others have noted references to Bond films, but not so much to Bond himself.it's as much a spoof on swinging 60's London as anything else and Austin is a loveable bafoon with terrible (British teeth)
He is so far removed from Bond which is where a lot of the comedy comes from.
Austin is his own man baby. yeah!

In the time that's transpired since starting this thread, you can have already watched all three movies! ***Spoiler Alert*** Not only do I like the direct references to Bond, e.g., "Random Task"="Odd Job," ("Who throws a shoe? Honestly! You fight like a woman! ") :)) I also like the 90's commentary to 60's spy film sensibilities, like extorting world leaders for "One Meeleeyon Dollars," or Dr. Evil's son, Scott Evil, arguing about imposing a slow, agonizing death for Austin Powers that would actually give him a chance to escape, offering to instead go and get his gun from his room and "Pow," shoot Austin Powers in the head right now and get it over with, LOL. Having quit Marijuana a couple of decades now, I wonder how much more funnier Austin Powers would be under the influence? "Shaggadelic, Baby!"
"...the purposeful slant of his striding figure looked dangerous, as if he was making quickly for something bad that was happening further down the street." -SMERSH on 007 dossier photo, Ch. 6 FRWL.....

Don't take the movies seriously with high expectations and I'm sure you'll have a good laugh. I think the movies are pretty funny.

What I find interesting is recently my SO and I have been watching all of the Bond movies in order (he hasn't seen them all!) and his reactions of finally understanding where all the Austin Power movie jokes/spoofs come from is rather amusing. :))

They are very funny films lots of Bond type parralels
lots of British lavatory humor (you might not get it)
its like Benny Hill meets carry on meets james bond
with a bit of Dereck and clive put in for good measure
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

The AP movies parody just about every movie genre and convention, not just JB

They even contain references to The Exorcist and more obscure movies like The Great Santini

Only seen bits here and there - not watched one the whole way through, really. I get the impression that I'm not missing very much, though and that YOLT the film is their main source of influence.
