It was hilarious. Especially the speeded up bits. I remember people laughing in the cinema at that.

Would you prefer the Star Wars Ep III fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan? Two guys endlessly trying to hit eachother with glowsticks?

Are you really being serious here ?:)

    Wait, what?
Did you just Star Wars us?

It's a compare and contrast. Bond and Gustav's fight with real swords which involved cutting, elbowing, bleeding and exhaustion or Obi and Ani's fight which was a 10 minute struggle in the most over the top setting and almost unbelievable feats even for star wars carried out with "glowsticks"/ light sabers. I like the Bond Gustav fight because it feels real and believable. Compared to to other things we've seen in the Brosnan era which required his Bond to be physical.

How can you compare a lightsaber fight in a fantasy universe, to a swordfight in a realistic universe?

You do however have a claim in your comparisons, the fight in ROTS was better rehearsed and executed albeit in an unrealistic universe. The actors involved in that (Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor) trained hard to be able to fight with conviction and it worked. In DAD the opposite is true. It relied on editing and footage speeded up because the choreography was very poor and the fight was poorly executed. Brosnan and Stephens were not trained in the use of blades to a decent standard and their rehearsal times must have been rushed. The end piece put up on screen proves just that.

I can't recall anyone laughing at the ROTS fight. The actors involved were brilliant and sharp in their execution and they were fast, well choreographed and impressive.

Kinda drifting off topic now. But back to Brozza. Highlights for me were:

TND when he is waiting in the hotel room drinking vodka and attaching the suppressor to his PPK

TND 'So am I' His reply to Kauffman just before he blows his brains out.

TWINE The lingering look he gives after taking on the 'Swiss Bankers'.

That's the one. He had other great moments in his films (as others have listed, and no doubt will continue to list), but that for me is his defining moment as 007.
It's one of the reasons why I list TWINE as Brosnan's best, and one of the essential Bond films. He nails the character at that point.

Yes, TWINE was definitely Brosnans best portrayal of Bond. That's why we had such high hopes when DAD came out. The rest is, unfortunately, history :#

What's said is his Bond was still good in that... and the first half was easily one of the best halves for a bond film... then it went completely off the rails with the gadgets :(

The sword fight feels "real and believable"... ?:) its about as "real and believable" as the CGi in DAD...

Brosnan's Bond actually getting physical with Gustav graves in that intense sword fight. Most of Brosnan's physical fight scenes didn't look as believable when compared with what we saw Connery, Lazenby and Craig do, but with a sword in his hands, the sh!t was on!

yes, unfortunately I must agree. :# Brosnan looked horribly overmatched by Graves. Bond should of aproached the fight with strategic finesse instead of trying to match brute force vs brute force.

In my opinion the ONE scene in his entire tenure where Brosnan was not cool and suave enough.

All of those for me! Admittedly I'm Brosnan's biggest critic but these 3 moments showed me he could be Bond in fits and spurts.

Also I loved it in GE when he's getting shot at while arming the bomb in Trevelyan's base and he slightly flinches when a bullet misses him by inches. Brilliant!
