Sneak Peek at Prop Pictures!

And when I say sneak I mean sneak! During my Tetbury video review I decided to make a trip to the International Spy Museum in Washington DC...the PR blurb promises the following:

Meet Bond’s villains, uncover their evil schemes, and explore their exotic lairs and weapons in this special exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Bond films. See over 100 film artifacts from the archives of EON Productions, the Bond film producers.

What I couldn't be prepared for was the amazing amount of props they had on display. Only MAJOR problem was they were fanatical about no picture taken, and there were stern guards everywhere. Warnings of no filming or picture littered each room and entrance-way, so what's a Bond fan do...ignore signs and warnings of course! Luckily I befriended a good natured security person who gently chastised me for taking photos while simultaneously giving me a slight wink and nod...Finally though, I ran into one that wasn't as forgiving. The pictures below are what I was able to take and believe me ALL the pictures are bad because I took them while looking like I was on the phone, walking through etc. BTW, the exhibit is amazing and if you are near Washington it is a must see! Also, check out some of the cool souvenirs I purchased...the gift shop is amazing!

    They're just trying to stop people from showing what a Godawful prop that Patrice chairleg is. Can't blame them for that.

    Cheers for posting dave, I was scratching my head at the 10th pic, trying to figure out how you'd got a pic of one of danjaq_0ff's plugs, but then realised it is off course a power cell thingy from the hotel in the middle of nowhere in QoS.

    Mantis, you're always a step ahead! BRAVO! -{
    James Bond: I tend to notice little things like that - whether a girl is a blonde or a brunette...
    Tiffany Case: And which do you prefer?
    James Bond: Well, as long as the collars and cuffs match...

    Thank you for sharing the pictures David,

    I had no idea that the museum had more props from the series added to its collection. I am hoping to visit the museum some time in the near future since in addition to my interest in the James Bond films, I also have an interest in Cold War era history and spying.

    Great video Mantis! When I get chance I will make you a closing title sequence as well. :)

    I enjoyed seeing all the Moonraker props. The laser pistols and rifles are really different to the ones on display at the Designing 007 exhibition.

    I thought the wind was a good idea to keep you off from terribly sweating on your video ;)
