Dr. No

I'm making my way through all the Bond films again (not in order and some I've not watched in a good while) and tonight was Dr.No.

I'd forgotten just how much detecting Bond does in this film. He uses his head, living off his wits and without any real gadgets. Probably the most pure Bond film up to Casino Royale (though FRWL also has Bond doing the leg work.) A great way to spend an evening! :007)

I still love that film. I had the great pleasure of seeing it in the cinema last year during a Bond Retrospective and thoroughly enjoyed it on the big screen. It's a bit dated and some of the dialogue and scenes grate - like the 'special effects' during the car chase! - but I agree that it's distinctly Bond...and I love the music, the Jamaican scenery and you just can't beat Ursula Andress! A great film all around.

A fantastic film. Quite interesting to see how he catches his enemies off guard in the film (setting up the pillows to look like he was asleep in the Dent killing and sleeping with Miss Taro while waiting for the police arrive to arrest her)
Have you ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?"
