BR Peacoat Care

Hi All,

I didn't own any 100% virgin wool jacket prior to the BR so just want to get some advice on maintaining the jacket.

I love the jacket and wore it quite a few times during this winter.

As you can see from the pictures, the wool at some friction areas and even the jacket as a whole is more "puffed" and some piling too.

Any advice on wool care is greatly appreciated. (Lint brush, garment brush). I do plan on getting it dry cleaned shortly.

I hope that's not a recurring problem, I might cancel my order.

It is still a great jacket but I just want to make sure it should be like that and if so, how to take care of it. Any comments are appreciated

I'm sure it is but if I'm spending $700 for a coat, it better be a quality product.

As with all wool, it's always best to care for them by brushing with a horsehair brush. Keep dry cleaning to a minimum, only once a season unless considerably soiled. Dry cleaning will wear out your coat faster than anything. And if you wear it a lot during the day give it a day's rest between wearings.

When I take it off, I use a lent brush and let it hang in the open for a few hours. Then, I put it away.

Please point out what we're supposed to see in those pictures. My eyes are too tired.

    Yes I agree!

I was somewhat concerned when I read this. I also ordered one online, (amazingly it's still available) but I won't be receiving it until August. It mentioned 100% wool on the website.

As much as I'd like to wear it very often, it's probably best to limit the amount of wear on it each season. Also, when stored, can it be wrapped/covered in plastic? I've seen long garment covers before, (say when you get clothing back from a dry cleaners, particularly suit jackets).

    Might we worth looking into.

Sorry for the bad pictures but I am trying to show that wool fibres slightly piling and are not as tight. This is more apparent in the second picture.

I know that all wool will pile but just not sure of the rate and if virgin wool is faster
