Casino Royale review for World Book Night

Hello everyone

I've been looking in for a while and really enjoying the discussions, especially those on the Literature board as I'm especially fond of the Bond books. Figured this was a good time to start contributing as I've just written a piece on Casino Royale for the World Book Night feature on an Arts Review Site I help edit. You can read the review at:

Would love to hear your thoughts. I should explain that I also have to argue the case for Casino Royale against some of the other books on the WBN list at an event later this month, so my piece is half review and half defence of the Fleming canon as a whole.

Hope you enjoy it.

Good job Mr. S! I was glad to see you defend Fleming's literary style, given how underrated it is, and you pointed out the novel's historical context as well. A very smoothly written piece. I'm eager to see what your later defense of the novel will be like.

Thanks for the reply Revelator - will let you know how the event goes. I'm ready to defend Casino Royale to the death, as Bond would surely expect!
