Casino Royale

After last year's 50th anniversary celebrations, it's pretty easy to forget that tomorrow, 13th April, is the 60th anniversary of James Bond.

The Guardian's done a pretty cool slideshow charting how the Casino Royale book cover has changed over the years (although nothing from the 70s, 80s or 90s)

Good stuff, I enjoyed that. Interesting that no 6 and 7 were taken up by the film; Vesper as the Queen or something on the pack of cards, and the purple dress she sports in the casino scenes of the film.

Thanks Sir James - very interesting. I didn't realise Fleming was a friend of Eric Ambler (image 4/11) - perhaps explains the reference to Ambler's novel 'The Mask of Dimitrios' in FRWL.
