evolve007 lodge jacket replica?

Hi everyone,
haven't posted much on here but have been checking the forums out and have enjoyed all the great info that is spread around on here.

Anyways, I'm just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the lodge jacket replica that the ebay seller evolve007 is making. He's the one that made the QoS budget harringtons. I'm sure most of you have seen the prototype lodge jacket pics in a few of the budget alternative threads and it looks great. I've been wanting to get my hands on one ever since it was announced because like some of you, I don't exactly have $1000 to drop on a real barbour.

So my question is: Has anyone else been in contact with him or heard anymore about an ETA on ebay? His email back in late January said it'd be on ebay within 3 weeks. Unfortunately, it's been about 3 months. I've emailed and messaged him on ebay a few times just asking if there were any updates, but I've only gotten one reply and he didn't say much.

I'm sure it will be ready sometime, just disappointing he doesn't answer any emails or give any updates. I figure either there was some trouble with production or he's filming a skyfall spoof to go along with it like he did with the harringtons.

well if anyone knows anything that I don't, please let me know.

thanks!

heard that barbour is going to reissue is jacket in the winter collection and it'll be more screen accurate definitely more affordable than the Tokito version now. maybe you can consider that

if that's true, I'd definitely be interested as long as it's a reasonable price. hopefully there's an official word on the reissue in the near future. thanks for the info.

    Hi
It's going to be the same price, I have spoken to evolve007 and he received his first batch but wasn't overly happy with them so I am awaiting and update

From the information that's been posted here, the jacket's been confirmed by Barbour, and it's going to be approximately the same price as the other. I'd suggest just saving your money and ordering the real thing. Some things just don't make sense as replicas. Unique movie items fit into that list. You'll never be fully satisfied with a replica. Who knows? By the time that you've saved up for the real thing, you may not even want it anymore.

I pre ordered my commander a few months ago from onward reserve on line, the cost was $729 and as a first time buyer I received 10% off that bringing it down to $656.00

The new Barbour Commander won't be more screen accurate. It will lack the strip of material that secured the hood. It's quite prominent on the screen coat.

thanks for the info and suggestions everyone.

glad to hear evolve007 is still going to have the jacket. @jared_nomak if you get any more updates let me know please. As much as I'd love to buy the real deal, I'll probably end up getting the replica. I have no problem with a replica as long as it looks the part and more importantly fits correctly. It can be missing a few details but the lodge jacket just needs to have the proper fit to look good. same goes for any other piece of clothing. I checked on onward reserve for the barbour commander preorder but I don't see any signs of it, at least not for the U.S. maybe I missed it.

I'm probably going to end up saving my money up for the Billy Reid peacoat, because it looks great and can be worn dressed up or just casually. we'll see though. so many things to buy, so little money.

If that is true, I don't care. It's still very coooool!

It is, check out the pictures of the new jacket on Stuarts of London's site. It clearly lacks this panel.

Dan (evolve) has just sent out an email saying his tokito replica is now on eBay. He was pretty honest about the issues he had with the manufacturer, so the jacket hasn't come out the way he wanted.

Anyway for those interested search eBay under "royale skyfall lodge jacket"

Kind of disappointing. The prototype looked great. This, not so much. I was considering buying one even though I have a tokito. Not now.

The only thing i'm real disappointed with is the color. Unless when you wax it and it turns into the rich dark olive color.

Not sure what is up with the colour, but it does not look like an "olive" colour. More like a yellowish colour. And of course it has short arms again.

The color could just be due to lighting, actually reminds me of the color of a lot WWII US uniforms and field gear which was olive drab #3 (a very light olive, commonly called khaki in the WWII community) ...but like everyone else, I'm quite disappointed after the long wait. The prototype looked pretty spot on but this not so much. Without the wax it's pretty much just another jacket. I guess you could wax it yourself but seems like a lot of trouble for a jacket that should already be waxed. I'm not putting the blame on evolve007 though as he was honest about the troubles with the manufacturer in the email. I give him a lot of credit for taking on this project and trying to please us poorer bond fans who need the cheap alternatives, but It's still disappointing when all of us expected an awesome looking waxed replica after all these months.

It's still a cool looking jacket for someone that may want the barbour style but doesn't want the wax or dark green color. I probably won't be getting it now because like most of you, I want what I see in the movie. Thank goodness I found someone selling the real deal on here or I'd probably be pretty frustrated at this point.

Props for him to being honest!!!

Colour looks way off, more like a Sand / Desert colour. I dint think waxing it would change much either, the material colour needs to be approx correct regardless of the wax

Okay, so what would be the best way to go to dying the jacket. Besides the color, i'm still interested in getting this if it's possible to change the color to something darker.

    Hi
Waxing it will make the colour much much darker, such a shame it didn't turn out as it should of

I wonder why it can't be dyed the appropriate green colour? Then waxed?

He actually released a video a couple of days ago explaining all the issues. Here it is.

I really do hope he continues with this project. I've been wanting to get one of these since the prototype pic showed up.

Ouch. Feel for him. Tough to start the project and come up with these obstacles. Can't imagine the amount of time he's probably spent trying to fix this with the manufacturer...

It would end up making the lining coloured too

If people are still interested and don't mind putting in a little elbow grease, Evolve007 found a solution. And I must say the results are amazing.

After watching this, I decided to buy it and give this a shot. I'll post pictures and a review of the jacket when I'm done.

Will do, from looking at reviews on eBay, I should have the jacket relatively soon.

Still waiting for it in the mail. When I ordered, it said it would get here between June 4th and 10th.
