    Hey Guys,

I have decided to ‘resurrect’ a few of these jackets myself. (I won’t be doing all of them) but I should have 3 full waxed Olive replicas for sale on ebay by the end of the week. I am only going to be providing the 3 most popular sizes at this stage (M-L-XL) and I have one of each ready to go, just waiting on the Sno Seal to arrive. Most of you will know the back story and whats involved to get them sorted. It takes me about 7-8hrs per jacket to bring them back to life + $50 in materials, so as you can imagine I have to charge something for the time and effort. I work full time, so when a size has sold it may be a couple of weeks before I get a replacement jacket up on ebay. I will probably only be doing 1, maybe 2 jackets a week. (one of M-L-XL)
Okay... sit down.... $299AUD / $270USD (current exchange rates) + Shipping

    Ahhhhhhhh......... shipping

Now as it stands the jackets sold as they are are $119AUD, cost between $35-$65AUD to ship. I only charge $30 for all jackets, because thats the generous kinda guy I am!!! The heavier (over 1kg – XL/XXL) jackets actually cost over $60 to Europe and about $45 to USA. (registered post only)

The not-so-good news is all jackets will be much heavier because of the wax and all over a kilo. (around $45 to US and $60 to Europe)

As I said in my video, at the cheaper price I’m only looking to get my money back with the jackets as they are. So I present to you fine gentleman an option. Pick up a nice screen accurate replica for half the price of the Commander or a third of the price of the original jacket (with hood and accessories), or grab one of the unfinished ones and put in the elbow grease yourself, at less than half the price of my finished replica.

Thanks for your attention and I’ll let you know when they’re on ebay (by the end of the week)

    Cheers

    Dan.

    Good morning gentlemen.

It's been a veeery long time since my last visit. I'm writing to let you know that I've bought a jacket from Daniel. I've not been able to find some of the components for the resurrection. So last saturday, I decided to wax it straight out the washing machine.

The jacket was not treated anyway, I waxed on the PVC coating. I kinda like the result, it has a sage green that's very appealing.

    What do you think?

P.S. I beg your pardon for the crappy iPhone pic!

That's a cool look Cdr_JB. Did you also wax the patch pocket? It seems to be a shade lighter than the rest.

Might have a good chance to try mine in the rain this weekend at a friend's ranch. I'll report back the results (and possibly pics).

Yes I waxed it. But beforehand I noticed that this part had too much PVD coating. It was almost shiny before waxing, so I rubbed it hard with a scotchbrite pad and I managed to strip the shiny finish so maybe this fact has made it to get a little lighter shade. Anyway, I'm very happy with the outcome.

Lucky you, here in Spain the autumn is about to begin and no signs or trace of rain. I'm afraid I'll have to wait 'til november.

Ah, I see. Just got back from the ranch. It only rained the first night and dropped to the low 60's F. and the jacket was excellent. Can't wait for weather to stay like this for a while to really give it a test drive. Sadly, no pics though.

    Hi all,

Just registered so hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. I purchase the original uncustomised Lodge replica from Evolve007 earlier this year. I purchased a large but had underestimated the fitted nature and my build! I re-sewed all the buttons as they were poorly attached however the jacket has been unloved as I have only sparingly wore it open earlier this autumn.

I have read with interest Dan's customization though these seemed to have disappeared from eBay for now.

I was wondering if anyone had interest in exchange for part cash and my jacket for a customized xlarge.

I am in the UK so really only interested in EU or UK trades at the moment.

    Let me know.

I've just ordered this item in XL and I have a few questions for those that have resurrected their own.

    1. I live in the UK, how long was the estimated delivery time, and did you have to pay an import tax?

    2. Where exactly can you find MEK in the UK? I've looked in Wicks and B&Q and had no luck finding any.

    3. For the dyeing process, did anybody use Dylon fabric dye? If so, what colours?

    4. And finally, what kind of wax did you use? Sno Seal can be purchased on Amazon but I'm again not sure how much I'll need.

    Thanks for any answers.

Any help on what PVC solvent to use would be greatly appreciated.

any clear PVC solvent! go down to your local hardware store and ask for the clear PVC plumbing solvent you will need at least 1L or more pending on how heavy handed you are! methyl-ethyl-ketone is the chemical name for it.
