North or south one things for sure the film crews wont go hungary
but it would be a great shame if they filmed it in Ireland and made out it was somewhere else
thus depriving Ireland of much needed future tourism income
It would require filming the real thing (if it ever happens again ) or CGI, but a sequence where the villans try to sabotage an enormous oil platform while it's being towed (preferably in a Norwegian fjord). It's quite a sight - I remember seing one of them while it was buildt:
I re read the newspaper bit and they say the tourist boss's will take advantage of it and the titanic quarter was mentioned for Belfast and it is well known

perhaps there will be a chase on the Harland & wolfe crane 8-)
I want to see Bond in some genuinely troubled places - West or East Africa perhaps... Cities like Kinshasa or Mogadishu. Naturally, I imagine they would have to film somewhere else and pretend to be in those places, but it would add a bit more gritty realism to proceedings if Bond was operating in those surroundings.
You have a point. In the 50's and 60' Jamaica or Paris was very exotic to most people, but now they are known holliday destinations to many. Bond shouldn't stop going to those places, but he should also go to places very few have been. But I also think Bond's location should be exotic and look fablous, he shouldn't go to slums and shanty towns. Examples of locations that are both dangerous are Al Hajrem in Yemen or Kashmir in India/Pakistan. I have mention both places before and I would love to see them up on the screen.
Perhaps some R&R in the Maldives , Jade Mountain , or Bora-Bora to bring back the exotic element that's lacking lately ..........I think every Bond film should feature a tropical paradise to counter the ''grittier'' locations .
Australia and New Zealand-The only continent Bond hasn't been to (I'm pretty sure) is Oceania.
You have the desert and wilderness of Australia with crocodiles and snakes and you have the "untouched" LOTR feel of New Zealand.

I think Ireland offers some interesting possibilities. Belfast and Dublin are both beautiful cities. I could envision a scene at Trinity College that could be similar to the Sir Hilary Bray scene from OHMSS at the College of Arms. Shooting a scene in Pierce Brosnan's hometown of Navan would be a nice nod to him.
So here's my list:
1) Ireland: for the reasons mentioned above.
2) Any of the Scandanavian countries...Sweden, Norway, or Finland. Beautiful scenery and I'd like to see Bond do some winter work...maybe write in a skiing scene for Daniel Craig.
3) Jamaica: I think it would be neat to have Bond there on holiday. They could even film him staying at Ian Fleming's old shack "Goldeneye." He's enjoying a rest and is called back to London in the middle of winter and back to the cold hard realities of his profession.

If that happens, I hope he goes snowboarding instead of skiing. That is something for Craig I think.
Don't confuse me with the other DutchBondFan, but be sure to follow his YouTube account. You can read my articles on James Bond Nederland: www.jamesbond.nl/author/gosse/
While some would think snowboards are 'awesome, man', I disagree. We all have horrible memories from last time Bond was surfing on a board :-! And I think skis are far classier.
All I can say is I have a couple of mates who ski. Rather they used to ski
but moved to snowboards as they were more fun. )
Personally I don't ski that much. Actually the Parliament Un-Norwegian Activities Commitee are threathening to revoke my citicenship because I have skied less than three times a year for five years now
My friends ski alot. One of them was actually met a by a police car after skiing down a mountainside because onlookers had reported a "desperado" and a "madman" skiing a slope that was more vertical than horiziontal.
I understand my friend. Skiing is fun if you are good at it:
If you think skiing is boring, look at this video! Skiing off mountains, down the railings of stairs, down walls etc ... they should hire this gang to do stunts for a Bond movie.
There are so many places I would love to see Bond. The obovious ones are Australia and South Africa, because there are not many places Bond has not visited. Canada springs to mind as well - although Bond should have gone there in TB - station C, Canada but Bond requests he be moved to Nassau.
I am always a bit surprised how little Spain is used in Bond movies. Only Bilbao in TWINE and apparently a Spanish village near Madrid in FYEO. Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid, Seville are all great cities that could be used as a location.
In the last few days Greenland has lifted the ban on mining for uranium on their territory. Greenland has some of the largest deposits of uranium in the world, making this important news. This could also be used in Bond 24. Obviously this uranium can be used for building nuclear bombs or dirty bombs, both by questionable regimes and terror organisations around the world. A story buildt around Greeland's uranium has all the ingredienses: a completely new territory for cinema-goers, skiing and snowmobiles, the forementioned Sirius Patrol, ice-axe fights, other excotic places such as the middle east, hot blondes (Greenland is Danish territory) and a hot topic (fears of nuclear materials in the hands of sininister regimes and organisations). The Bond producers always say they start the scripts by looking at what people are afraid of or what is on their minds just now. This idea could be combined with another plot I have suggested: blowing up the vulcano on the Canary Islands creating a tsunami in the Atlantic and destroying the seaboards of most NATO countries.

a chase sequence. )
Where is this located?
I ask, because my last name is Durham and I've always been told about a Durham Castle, but no one in my family is alive anymore that might have known.
1: Brosnan 2: Craig 3: Moore 4: Dalton 5: Connery and 6: Lazenby
It's in Durham.
