Surely he does that on purpose in response to Alec's warning...? I think MG is getting at something more related to a blooper or continuity error, like when a character in a film lights a cigarette and it appears to get longer as the scene progresses...

Congrats TB, as the water is drained from the dish, it goes backwards, magically flying into the air and flying down the drain, much like my own sanity.

Therefore time, for just a short moment, appeared to go backwards.
