I was thinking about the scene at the lodge, right before the attack occurs, where Bond and M are looking out the window.
M: "I fudged this up didn't I?"
Bond: "You did your job."
It hit me: Bond realizes that M was just doing her job. Bond has gone from "I think you lost your nerve" when he returns to her house, to this.....
It reminded me of the relationship between a parent and a kid. Sometimes kids blame their parents for not having this, or that, or having this, or that, etc.
In that moment Bond realized that Mom all along was just doing the best she could at the time.
I'm sure it has been discussed or mentioned before but its a great feeling when the idea of a movie hits you and you GET it, instead of just reading about it (and getting it).
- Crotch shot of the waitress at Perla de Lunas. They obviously didn't have another angle of her getting up from the bed and running away, but this shot seems a bit wrong - nice, but feels out of place
- Older Italian lady losing her groceries and saying something in Italian. Weak, cliched joke.
The Bond Theme being used during the battle at Piz Gloria was the last time the original recording was heard, and it's there simply because Peter Hunt wanted it there (not John Barry).
Why do the henchmen decide to fight Bond in Beirut?
I watched this scene last night, while thinking about "Why do they do this" all I could think was that perhaps the Ariel Sharon looking guy could be Saida's pimp??
I always assumed the big baldy guy was ( To use Dutchfinger's description ) "banging" her
and didn't want some bloke moving in on his bird. So he sent his " Heavies" in to give Bond
a good kicking.

I think this is meant to imply that General Medrano is a rapist - that's why he insisted the waitress take the beer to his room. He's taking out his loss of face to Greene on her. And we know how he treated Camille's mother and sister too. It's just a shame that when Camille finally stabs him with the glass shard, she doesn't do it in his crotch.

That explanation works for me. Just add it to the list of jealous husbands, outraged tailors…. )
BTW I appreciate that other AJB members are actively re-watching the films rather than recalling the last time they saw it in the cinema.

+1, minimalist style of posters and artwork seems to have been the style since Casino Royale. I really miss the old style Maginnis-type posters.
A bit off topic (apologies) but I came across this poster for a film called The Venetian Affair, starring Robert Vaughn, but not a Man from UNCLE film. I haven't seen the film, but I love this style of poster, just think what they could have done with SPECTRE:
Poster artwork in the 60's and 70's was magnificent, even the cheapest of movies looked like epics - the standard of artwork now for all movies is just terrible - cobbled together screenshots - no effort is made at all
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
Nope, other way round (see posts 502 and 503 above). They give her the diamonds, and tell her to go to Amsterdam. She says she'll bring back photos of the canals.
Not so much a niggle as Funny ( to me anyway )
Watching Moonraker again last night, with Bond and Goodhead, in their Moonraker heading
to the space station, Dr Goodhead can be seen doing paperwork ? ...... is she filling in the insurance
claim form, for what Bond is about to do.
I know it was to show" No Gravity" on board, (a floating pen) .. but it simply struck me as funny.

Again, the best posts are usually within 24 hours of re-watching a Bond film because little details like this are still fresh.
I'll keep this in mind next time I watch MR. Off the top of my head, I thought she was doing some calculations about the trajectory of the spaceship or something? Or maybe she was filling out the paperwork to legally change her last name.

"Better make that two."
The mushroom shaped rock does not look like a mushroom to me.

OHMSS:
One of Bond's reasons for wanting to go down in the cable car was "to get some fresh air"
Bond DID have his facts right.
Squealing tyres on sand and snow.
Why would Blofeld sacrifice three of his own men in that avalanche?
Draco says "3..2..1...Now!" and then there is a long pause as Bond escapes.
Why cut it so close and risk killing Bond anyway?
Bond theme is played twice during Piz Gloria attack, but Bond is not shown doing anything until the very end of the second piece.

As much as I love the Spectre poster, I was disappointed the man in the skeleton outfit was not a villain. I was hoping for a LALD vibe in the film.

What does it matter to you? When you've got a job to do, you've got to do it well....
" I don't listen to hip hop!"
isn't a patch on the older artwork.

( a little old lady dropped them by ..... )
And was drowned by Wint and Kidd ?
Then I realized they had a great opportunity to show Mathis, to show Blofeld was responsible for killing his friend, but they didn't.
I assume they forgot.

Wait, didn't she give the diamonds to them? I can't remember now, but didn't she ask them to bring back photos?

"What's Bond doing?"
"I think he's attempting re-entry, Sir"
In fact, best bit of Moonraker that.
I don't like Moonraker.
