I really wish ITV would stop putting in so many Add Breaks during Films.
What I don't understand is why Bond fans would be relying on the TV. I just assume that everyone on here has all the 007 films on VHS/DVD/BluRay..maybe even laserdisc too.

There is something different about watching a Bond Movie on TV, then on VHS or DVD.
Dead right and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Goldfinger yesterday. Seeing Bond emerge from the water in the pts reminded of the version that i recorded off the telly back in the late 80's when the teletext 888 box appeared in the bottom corner of the screen. Was it 888?
from Goldfinger you can clearly see that it is bob simmons during the fight scene with oddjob in fort knox. The exact scene i mean is shot from the rear of bond when he is holding a stick of wood to **** around oddjobs head.
This always confused me when i was a kid cause i just couldnt work out why it wouldnt be connery in such a simple scene. Still confuses me now
It's documented in John Brosnan's "James Bond In The Cinema" that Connery hurt his back during the fight with Oddjob and walked off set. Perhaps this explains it.
Just caught the scene with Oddjob and the car being crushed with Solo inside. I thought he was lying dead on the seat out of sight, but when I focused on the car as it's being lifted to the crusher, the inside is clearly visible and so is the absence of a corpse. They could have at least thrown in a mannequin, but I supposed they believed it wasn't going to be noticed. They probably saw it in the daily rushes of that days print, but by that time it would have been costly to reshoot as they had to lease the yard from the owner and procure another car (combine that with crew and film salaries).
Well maybe Goldfinger had her hit with a few gold bars first. or he used
Lead paint, ALOT of lead paint. )
It would have been more realistic and logical if Bond told M. in their meeting that she had been strangled before being painted. In the novel GF had sex with women after they were painted (and probably then left to die). If THAT had been mentioned in the film, the censors would have had seizures.
agreed, they are, after all " sadism for the whole Family " )
The most violent PG movies ever made!
Speaking of Solo not being in the car, what about Goldfinger not being in his Rolls when leaving the country club? Quite a few little glitches in Goldfinger, but still an excellent film.
Here's a new that I don't think has been mentioned:
AVTAK: High angle shot of General Gogol sitting in the Corvette waiting is obviously not Walter Gotell. In fact it looks more like Pushkin's bodyguard from TLD. ??????

To connect the two films, in Goldfinger the car being crushed clearly has no engine when lifted, and
in AVTAK the cops car that gets crushed by the bridges counter weight also clearly has no engine. )
Then again this might be an early ecological stance from the producers.

That must be why people think that AVTAK is a remake of GF.

There is one little niggle I've spotted in QOS. When Bond is placed in the lift with a few Secret service guards
He's handcuffed. As soon as the doors close our man goes into action knocking seven bells out of aforementioned
guards ( all the more impressive as he's handcuffed ). Now we come to my little niggle.
As soon as the fights over Bond bends down ( with his back to the sleeping guard ) and reaches for the keys on
the guards belt, and stands up. immediately reaching for the lift bitton with his right arm ! Now he hasn't unlocked
anything ! so was he just showing off some cool Krav Maga moves to impress the non "OOs" )

As for the issue with the M16"s taken by the American/British/ Russian sailors from the armory on the Liparus in The Spy Who Loved Me, the reason why you never see them being fired is due to the fact that they are Model Gun Club replicas which cannot fire, rather they stand in for real M16's in the non-firing scenes for safety and comfort of the actors.
My guess is that Bapty did not have enough Sterling L2A3's to go around for the actors so they supplemented them with MGC M16 replicas and figured during the weapons firing scenes nobody would notice that M16's never fired.
Tracy realizing Piz Gloria is about to be attacked and she wants to go UP to the Alpine Room. Sure enough she is met with a hail of machine gun fire andgrenades. Lucky she wasn't killed immediately...what was she thinking?
I also wonder if Blofeld might have recognized Draco's voice over the radio? They may have done business together in the past.
When Bond is searching his room in Piz Gloria the "we have all the time in the world" tune is played. After Tracy's death the 007 theme is played. Maybe if these 2 songs were switched it would make more sense?

I think Tracy is looking for a better place to escape from, then join up with her fathers men.
I don't think it's ever suggested that Draco and Blofeld have ever met.
The Bond theme at the end, I think was to give a slight lift for the audience after the tragic ending.
Not saying these are the right answers, only my opinion.

*Maud claims that jewelry smuggling is no concern of the British secret service. If that were true then what was 009 doing in East Berlin ?
*The way Bond repeats "Q" after every sentence during their tour of the shop.
*Bond explaining the details of the Faberge Egg in the presence of Jim Fanning. Scriptwriters, please let the experts do the talking and have Bond just listen for a change.
*The stuntwork is excellent, but the parachute harness on Gobdina is easily visible when he falls off the airplane.

Here's a couple from Casino Royale when Bond and Vesper meet on the train:
*Bond makes a weird Money Penny joke which seems out of place considering that Vesper is NOT Money Penny. I wonder if this confused any casual fans into thinking she was the rebooted MP ?
*Vesper mentions Bond's "perfectly formed arse" which is kinda strange considering they just met and Bond is sitting down.

I never thought the joke about being the money, every penny was a Moneypenny joke.
Just Vesper telling Bond she controlled the purse strings, and Bond countering with
how good she looks, ( in that sexist way of his ) ).
As for her noticing Bond's arse, she does have an imagination, I've often seen a beautiful
Woman sitting and I can imagine all sorts of funny things. :v )

James Bond will return! that's my theory on the abrupt use of the bond theme
" I don't listen to hip hop!"
I always thought it was because 009 was somehow onto the bigger threat posed by Khan...
Thanks to his idiotic bathosub - he did
That was my thought as well.
Maybe it was just to let the audience know that they really had been watching a Bond movie for the last 2 hours and 20 minutes. )
I hope that's because of George Lazenby and not in spite of him. -{
