Its funny, I read an interview that Henry Cavill did with Scene magazine, and he was asked about Bond. He said he was pleased to audition for CR, but was glad he did not get it, he was too young, and he thinks Mr Craig is doing a brilliant job as 007. - He also commented elsewhere in the interview his luxury spend was an Aston DBS! I think its safe to assume he is a fan.
I agree that Eon will go for another relatively unknown actor when the time is right. It worked with Sir Sean and worked brilliantly with Mr Craig. Ben Barnes is alright, but he can't work ropey dialogue. I saw recently Dorian Gray, and he was good in it, but Colin Firth overshadowed him when he was on screen. His second turn as Price Caspian was very good, but again he comes across as an ensemble actor, rather than a leading man. Plus he does indeed still look 12!
I still stand by my philosophy- till the man himself or Eon decree otherwise, Daniel Craig IS James Bond.
Does anyone know if Idris Elba is back as Ferndall in the second Thor film?
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?
+1. I've always thought that "Van Helsing" was Jackman publicly practicing for Bond- it has an M scene, a Q scene, the one-liners, PTS, and even "Your reputation precedes you, Mr Bon.. er, Van Helsing".
I say Man of Steel the other night and he didn't so it for me as Superman. He's no Christopher Reeve. And this was the best they could for Lois Lane. And why such a costube---He's NOT Batman.....
It would have been easy enough to have a chunky red belt to break up the line of the costume, if they didn't want red underpants.
I've yet to see the film, I keep getting put off. BTW Jackman looks the part in his Wolverine trailer, man he buffs up well. But his Brit accent in Van Hesling is a bit uptight, and I'm not sure what accent he would have taken as Bond. What's more, we can kind of all tell what he would have been like as Bond whereas Craig in fairness brought something new to the table. He was a relatively unknown quantity and of course Cavill won't be should he be in the running in the future.
Also with young Henry off playing Mr Solo, I guess he too will never
Be 007 !
Yes, that pretty much is it. By accepting the role of Napoleon Solo, Cavill has effectively ruled himself out of playing 007. He's decided to take what's on offer now rather than wait and see, with no guarantee he would get the Bond role after Daniel Craig.

If you believe the old TV show, he used to eat loads of chocolate bars.
Funnily enough it makes up a large part of my diet too. )

Actors by profession can't wait for the dream role. Very few end up playing a character they had ambitions to play. A young Peter Capaldi being a notable exception! I think Henry C has made a wise decision, he is part of the DC format as Superman (not seen Man Of Steel yet) and Uncle is prob the safest alt option to Bond from a transatlantic perspective. - Said he guessing like mad. I am curious to see Kingsman as well, since it seems to see the Sir Roger funnier side of the gent spy genre that QoS and SF lacked.
I don't envy the Bond producers because reinventing Bond post Craig will be very difficult. Re Idris Elba, Hugh Jackman etc, I thunk they are far too well known now and are too old to be a future Bond. Plus neither actor needs the publicity or career commitment.
Re Superman's diet, I assumed he eats a high protien diet but in larger quantities than we would? He must have a massive metabolisim for all that zooming around the world. Good thing his folks ran a farm when he was growing up!

Henry C should have followed Lazenby's initiative, should have gone to Brozzers barber & tailor, have a punch up in front of Babs and sleep with any women EON sent to his room! Does anybody believe that story? Sure its in the EON doc or am I dreaming? kind of implying they hired some hookers to test out his playboy powers lol
In many was Lazenby was like Bond, he had balls to blag his way in to

Sure, I can understand. He may really want the role of Bond but he can't
Put his career on hold, wishing the producers will call, but I'm certain there
Will be plenty if equally good actors around when DC decides to leave. -{

Whew, I'm quite happy Cavill isn't Bond. I wouldn't be interested. He is too generic -- he looks like he should be doing an ad on the back of a comic book for Charles Atlas. He's the guy who kicks sand in the face of puny 90-pound weaklings, or whatever. I'm not crazy about him being Napoleon Solo, an iconic character, either. What I've seen of Man of Steel suggests he can act, but I'm not sure he really does the Superman thing for me. I get that it was a "dark" version of the comic book character, but about the only appeal he's ever really had for me is his goody-two-shows, aw-shucks pureness, and Cavill made him seem more like some interchangeable jock in a TV series on the WB. A character like Bond (or Napoleon Solo, for that matter) needs the right combination of looks, brains, and personality. He shouldn't have a cookie cutter quality to him. Say what you will about Daniel Craig, but the producers were wise in choosing an actor who isn't an interchangeable mannquin or underwear model. There are already dozens of other films where one can see that, and they are not Bond.
I too thought Fassbender would have made a great Bond, but sadly now

Opinion.
We should be looking at the next generation of young British Actors.

Henry Cavill would make a good Bond, I doubt if he would play him now
And yes I will defend Mr. Cavill til the day I die !!
Likewise. I still think he should be the next Bond. He's 32 this year, the same age that Connery was when he started as Bond. By the time Craig finishes his fifth in 2018, Cavill will be 35, and 38 when Bond 26 comes out (assuming the producers keep with the pattern of one Bond film every three years). I think Cavill will be right for Bond.

I hope that's reflected in EON's thinking too. Seriously!
