Any news?

Anyone know if there's any talk on when bond 24 will go into production yet?

I worry for the new M and Moneypenny.... what if they don't return? Due to yet another 4 (or more) year gap? For me, the end of SF set everything back up, with new M, new Q, new Moneypenny, and Bond getting ready to 'get back to work'. But if these 4 year gaps keep happening, then that is just going to ruin the flow. Craig may even leave!

Thoughts?

    No no no!
The actors playing M Q and Moneypenny will have signed deals to return. Even if they don't then the producers can get different actors. They have clearly decided that this is the route they want to take so my feeling is we will see Bond back sooner rather than later with all the ususl characters.

These long gaps between films really are a disgrace, and the excuse of needing additional time to develop scripts is really poor as most big name directors churn out one film every two years and still end up with high scores on the Tomatometer. Don't believe anyone who uses that excuse as it is total nonsense.

I feel inclined to agree. But maybe because I just want a bond film already. But having said that, there have been plenty of decent bond films that were churned out and released 2 years after the one before. DAD infact was released after a slight gap, and we know how popular that one turned out...

I just hope I'm worrying over nothing. I want DC to do at least 2 more, but he aint getting any younger, and I'm afraid he may lose interest due to gaps (like TD did)...

The delay between QoS and Skyfall was due to MGM's financial troubles and nothing to do with scripts.

There was a much shorter gap between QoS and Casino Royale - two years. And before CR there were more financing issues with Sonybacquiring MGM following more legal wrangles.

The producers aim to get a Bond released every two years, I believe, as the process is not a short one. There hasn't been a Bond film released in consecutive years since Thunderball ended the run of the first four, plus the anomalous TMWTGG in 74.
