It's not so much what she's supposed to be playing, or what the character's descried as - its what she actually looks like she is.
Now if she can look believable beside Dan, all is well. If she looks like his daughter, in 2014 and with the serious, slightly downbeat tone of the Craig era, I don't think it would be right. (and the Brit press, I would speculate, would leap on that, rightly or wrongly).
Unless she is playing a youth JB is rescuing and the relationship is purely platonic, but from the vibes I get she is a 'traditional' Bond girl.

Rog can have all the young girls he wants. They "fit" with his Bond. Brosnan, had he stayed on, would have probably worked that with his interpretation of the character.
Cary Grant was knocking it out of the park in classic movies with younger women. But just because Grant and Rog can do it with their 'character' doesn't mean the darker, more dour Craig-Bond should try it.
Rhianna's IMDB listing mentions 105 soundtracks and three acting jobs (including Battleship ). Madonna was an acting pro compared to her , so let's hope she stays away from the acting side of Bond.

IMO the age difference is not an issue. Chemistry is. A couple of actors can be the same age or similar and have no chemistry at all.
Lea Seydoux is an excellent choice. I'm in love with french actresses. Marion Cotillard, Sophie Marceau, Julie Delpy, Bardot, Deneuve...you name it. Whenever I see a new actress and I totally like her, I check and 9 times out of 10 some french blood runs through her veins. They have a je ne sais quoi... Same with Seydoux. I saw her in Midnight in Paris and love her.
Plus, french Bond girls have been really good. Bouquet and Marceau come to mind.

All these "reports" are structured the same way, even the wording of much of the text and the placement and size of the picture are the same. They have reported Goldie Hawn, Miley Cyrus and even Doris Day to be the next Bond girl. Sorry.

While the report was false, I think the British Bond girl may very well be someone like Lena Headey, Hayely Atwell or Emily Blunt. I think the reason we have heard next to nothing about this casting is because they always knew who they wanted and it's an attractive, talented and famous British actress who signed on early.
