Lupita Nyong'o won both Oscars and Golden Globes for her role in '12 years a slave' seems like a very good Bond girl candidate. Her list of awards is much longer than her filmography
In other words she is a an exelent actress, but still a fresh face. And what a face!
She is 30 years old and she's a rising star.
Ms. Lyong'o is a fantastic actress judging from her performance in 12 Years A Slave and she's also very beautiful. I think she would be an inspired choice for a Bond Girl.
I think black actresses have been ill served in the Bond franchise. Rosie Carver, May Day, Jinx: all ill written characters badly acted. Lupita Nyong'o can do a lot better! While African actors like her can play characters from many cultures, I would very much like to see Bond visiting Africa south of the Sahara. A beautiful and interesting continent, and many women really do have Bondian names such as Joy and Precious.

You make an interesting point about the treatment of Black actresses, and I agree. Naomie Harris might be an exception (or maybe not since they had her Moneypenny shooting Bond!) But I can certainly see Ms. Nyong'o playing a character who could break that trend.
Agreed, most female characters are under written in the Bonds, with black women getting
an even worse deal. Mainly as most screen writers are middle class, middle aged white men. )
Thankfully with the new Moneypenny changes seem to be starting, in that most characters
seem to have a bit more depth to them, rather than " cardboard cutouts " .
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
Kate Upton has made "The Other Woman". If she turns out to be a reasonably good actress (or at least doesn't make a fool of herself), do you think she would make a good Bond girl? after all, Laetitia Casta turned out to be a very competent actress.
I was reminded of this topic by Hardyboy, so I repost some of my posts from 'Chiwetel Ejiofor next Bond Villain?' to avoid loosing the thread of the conversation:
According to MI6community.com EON is looking for a British and a Scandinavian to play Bond girls. I nominate Sofia Helin (Broen) or Synnøve Macody Lund (Headhunters).
Synnøve Macody Lund would be fantastic, but she is six feet tall (the forum member who kicked the hornet's nest .... ajb007/lol )
This just in! Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reports that two actresses have tested for a part in the next Bond movie:
Ida Engvoll (29) She is just 5' 4½" (1.64 m)) Good news for Dan ajb007/smile http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4206052/
Maria Bonnevie (41) should be concidered. She is incredibly beautiful, one of the most talented Scandinavian actresses of her generation and age apropriate for Craig. She is Norwegian/Swedish and speaks Swedish perfectly (it may look like the script wants a Swedish character) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0095013/
According to The Wrap: "The filmmakers will soon begin casting two key female roles, including a new Bond girl and a Scandinavian with a troubled past who will serve as a brief love interest for Bond."
http://www.thewrap.com/chiwetel-ejiofor … exclusive/
I'm guessing the Scandinavian girl will be the sacrificial lamb who gets killed and the British girl is the main Bond girl.
Ida Engvoll commented about the screentest:
"I can't say anything about it. Everything around that franchise is so secretive. But this screentest went fine considering the circumstances. You've only got one take to do it and thus the situation becomes special"
Disa Östrand says about the screen test (my translation from Aftenbladet):
"One just has to take it for what it is. I get very nervous when it's such big things. I tried not to think to much about the chances, but just being there."
What would you feel if you got the role?
"I would go completely crazy, I would be super happy. it would be very cool."
I get the impression The Wrap was Aftonbladet's source for the story and they interviewed the actresses themselves.
I feel this has gone beyond rumour and hearsay now. A major Swedish newspaper has reported the screentests of two named actresses and they have confermed this in interviews. This lends credibility to the reports that "The filmmakers will soon begin casting two key female roles, including a new Bond girl and a Scandinavian with a troubled past who will serve as a brief love interest for Bond."

These reports may be true BUT we get stories like these in the press all the time...normally 'leaked' by agents trying to get their clients names in the press...wouldn't be beyond the bounds of possibility....still, its all rumour though...
I find it unlikely that both give interviews about their screen tests if it's all a scam. The acting communities in Norway and Sweden are small, I fins it hard to believe they both think they could get away with such a big lie. That said, anything is possible. Also, even if it's true there is no guarantee the actress cast will be one of them or even Scandinavian. I remember when casting rumours started on QoS. They wanted a latin American actress, we heared. That was true, but they cast an Ukarainian as Camille. Still, I belive these are the most solid rumours so far on casting. Even the Chiwetel Ejiofor hasn't been confirmed by the actor or anyone in charge as far as I know. This may also give a hint on locations. Of cource the Swedish character may spend all her time in the US for all we know, but sweden as a location does seem reasonably likely.

If they are talking about their screentest, then they probably failed )
Eon keep their cards close...
As for Chiwetel....?....I heard rumors months ago that Eon had spoken to an actor about the lead bad-guy role....Chiwetel would seem a very credible second choice...
You have a point. Has it ever happened that an actor/actress has said to the press "I have screen tested"and then later been cast? I hope Maria Bonnevie is sitting quietly like the professional she is, knowing full well she is allready cast
The news about the Swedish girls testing for Bond 24 is actually over 2 months old: http://www.aftonbladet.se/nojesbl.../film/article18672369.ab - Haven't mentioned it on http://jamesbond007.se/ as nothing of it has been confirmed, they always screen-test lots of people before every film. But of course I wouldn't personally mind a Swedish girl bedding Bond again
It seems you are right. For some reason the story just didnt make it outside Sweden until now. So it gets even less likely those two got cast. I still belive threr is a 'Scandinavian' part in the script.
But there is the story about the British Bond girl and the Scandinavian girl who has a brief encounter with Bond etc. That implies that there is more to teh story. But do we know where that storty came from?
I refuse to belive the Scandinavian Bond girl rumour is false until there is proof of its falsness, and I might keep beliveing even after the evidence is clear as day! )
Birgitte Hjort Sørensen of the TV series Borgen is the best Danish candidate I know of. Just look!

Danish Marie Bach Hansen (28) was considered to play Severine in Skyfall, they might go back to her.

Birgitte Hjort Sørensen (32) is one of the leads in the Danish TV-series Borgen and looks a bit like Britt Ekland:

The simmularities to Britt Ekland are striking:

Cruz is great, but I think the Bond series should pick someone who isn't allready a star.
