The interesting fact is that the original Blofeld was of Polish descent if I'm not wrong, whereas Franz Oberhauser - probably Hans Oberhauser's son - is of Austrian descent. Pretty intersting how it will turn out, but I bet my money that the movie will include another personal connection to 007 himself - hence Oberhauser here.
I think we can pretty safely asume that Chris Waltz is playing the new Blofeld.
Or, would Monica Belluccii in fact be revealed as Blofeld?

I do own all the Fleming novels and am slowly making my way through those as well, but my knowledge on that isn't half as big as my movie knowledge. I don't own any of the continuation novels as of yet, so I'm afraid to say I'm more or less a rookie on that front. So fill me in here!
