James Bond: I tend to notice little things like that - whether a girl is a blonde or a brunette...
Tiffany Case: And which do you prefer?
James Bond: Well, as long as the collars and cuffs match...
Really? They put my order through. Is it gonna get kicked back? Paid with PayPal, and I live in Virginia.

I got too excited when I saw the post I did not read it all the way through...duh!!! PayPal has cleared the funds from my bank account though. Lets see how far the rabbit hole goes.
last year when i attempted to buy the original from them, it took about two weeks to clear up the fiasco that is buying from aspecto. They state no delivery outside UK for Barbour items (they claim Barbour prohibits it, which is bullshiat). They gladly retrieve the funds, only to have to fight paypal to reverse the fees a week after Apescto sends an email saying what I just said (export limitations).
Hopefully thats not the case anymore, but man what a pain in the ass that was

What's up with this "Export Limitation" BS???? a sale is a sale! What about globalization???? )
They should have a block for buyers with an IP address located outside the UK if they were really so adamant about it, instead they accept your funds that sit in their bank account for who knows how long for until PayPal gets them back for you...

Hi to all members! I am Massimo from Italy.
Don't know if this si the right place to post my request to the owners of the commander. If not, please forgive me.
I would like to order this jacket from kafka, and I am not sure what size order.
I am 40,15 inch chest and I have the BR peacoat size M that fits well ( even if it's not fitted as I expected). So, my question is if someone of the gentlemen of this forum ( that already helped me so much in ordering the peacoat - thanks again, Mr. Mantis - can suggest me the correct size to buy, and if Kafka is a trusty and serious store ( like BRwas).
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.

Kafka is trustworthy. You'll need a Large if you have a 40 inch chest.
Thanks, and forgive me if I bother you (and of course any other member) with my questions. have you the commander jacket (or the tokito) ?
I ask this because in the post called Skyfall sizing guide the members who purchased the size M of the BR peacoat choosed the M also for the Barbour (for a more fitted lok, I supoose).
Thanks to all the members ....
But, I would not to place a wrong order and the jacket is not so cheap !

I've got both the Commander and To Kito. If you are a 40 inch chest then with a Medium it will be quite tight and wearing layers underneath will be limited. If you were a 38 I'd recommend the Medium, but a 40 will be too tight for that. Measure yourself around the chest and if you are 39 or over, you'll need the Large.
Philip Browne has the Commander and has posted a little essay about it:
Coming soon for Autumn/Winter 2013. Barbour are launching a new sub-collection to their Heritage range called Dept B. Department B was originally an area in Barbour's South Shields factory dedicated to customisation where customers would order extra pockets or reinforcements for their Barbour jackets. Dept B focuses on these details and draws from the archives to produce and intricately tailored range.
The Barbour Dept B Commander Jacket, having been displayed to the world's leading buyers during Berlin fashion week in January of this year, was heralded as one of the most wanted pieces of outer wear at the show.
The Commander Jacket's design is inspired by the Sports Jacket (originally designed by Tokihito Yoshida for the Barbour Beacon Heritage To Ki To range) which became highly desirable following its appearance in last year's ultra-stylish James Bond film, Skyfall. Some lucky recipients and purchasers of this original garment, which was sold via eight or so forward thinking specialists in the UK at the end of 2012, are understood to have seal-wrapped them for future investment. The same people see themselves buying into this second incarnation as a similar opportunity, wearing the new Barbour Dept B Commander Jacket on a daily basis, and therefore safeguarding their original Beacon Heritage To Ki To Sports Jacket as a future investment and rare James Bond memorabilia.
There will be few stockists having access to this garment from around mid August. Philip Browne menswear will be one of those stockists. Having been instrumental in the successful launch of the original Beacon Heritage Sports Jacket last season, we will be pleased to be retailing this much anticipated jacket.
Demand through our site has already been worldwide. Please contact us now for details on how to secure the Barbour Dept B Commander Jacket.
Thanks Mr. Asp9mm, you are very kind.
I was going to the M probably because the peacoat (size M) is not as fitted as I want.I obviously know that the material is different, but (as I said) some members purchased both jackets (BR and TokiTo) in the same size. So, your kind advice (you have the Comander and the TokiTo) is now very precious for me.
However these are my measurements (so you can suggest me the right size to order):
height; 5,7 feet
weight: 156/8 lbs
chest; 40,15 inches
shoulder: 18,11 inches
When I am not at work (I'm a lawyer..) I usually wear only a light cashmere jumper under soports jacket (like the BR), and I would prefer a fitted look.
I am waiting for your reply, thanks a lot (and Forgive my poor english).
Best regards
OI!!! You're gonna get a slap. And after that, I'm going to do bad things to your lawnmower :v
And massimo, I'd still go with the Large. I'm a 38 inch chest and the Medium in the Commander and Tokito is screen tight on me. I also have a Large in the Tokito and that fits me fine too.
Thanks. I will order the L. Hope It will be a fine jacket.

It is really nice. You won't be disappointed. I've had the original for a couple of years now, the Bond connection was a bonus as I loved the jacket well before I knew Craig was wearing it.
Now I am in trouble more than yesterday...
From kafka, Mr. Robert, a very kind person says: "Hi Massimo, After having heard your measurements I would recommend the medium. It will be a slim fit but from the sound of things you are more than happy for that to be the case, and I just feel the large may be too big".
I am troubled ....

Hi massimo, using only measurements can be deceiving. As everyone is shaped differently. Why dont you post a pic of you wearing your BR peacoat and maybe people who have both jackets can comment.
Thanks for your help.
I have measured also my BR peacot (M) and it's 40 inches and a Blauer biker leather jacket that fits me tight but enough confortably (also chest 40).
Froma kafka, Mr. Robert says about the Commander that "The pit to pit on the medium was just over 21” and it was just over 22” on the large";so he suggest me to buy the M !!!
Obviously my gratitude goes to all you members (and to the seller) trying to guide me to the best choice, and any upcoming suggestion will be appreciated..
Next monday I am going to place my order...
This will be a difficult w.e. for me ...!

Hi massimo, using only measurements can be deceiving. As everyone is shaped differently. Why dont you post a pic of you wearing your BR peacoat and maybe people who have both jackets can comment.
I'm 164lbs, 5'11" and 40" chest. Tried on the medium wearing a light cotton long-sleeved polo shirt and could hardly move in it.
The large was a superb fit though, nicely shaped and room enough for winter layers underneath.
I have measured also my BR peacot (M) and it's 40 inches and a Blauer biker leather jacket that fits me tight but enough confortably (also chest 40).
