Ordering Billy Reid coat using Bonvu

Hi Guys,

Great forum, I've been an avid reader for a while.

I am looking to order the Billy Reid Peacoat to the U.K, however, I have read that some of you mentioned 'Bonvu.com' as a way of getting around the extortionate duties and taxes.

How was your experience with the site? Is there anything special I have to do, such as detailing the value of the item as less than its true worth etc?

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Bonvu is great and very simple (I must have used them 30 odd times)

Its up to you to declare the value and Bonvu give you the option to state value, however of course if it gets lost it can only be insured to the value YOU declared. There is an element of risk but ive never had anything lost in the post.

Thanks very much for your reply! Just to clarify, it is just a case of me buying form Billy reid, putting bonvu address as my shipping details. Then create a new order on Bonvu and wait for it to arrive at their HQ. Then once it arrives, I pay Bonvu said fee for shipping to the uk? Do I have an option of the carrier that Bonvu will use? dhl, ups etc?

Yes thats about it

1) Setup Bonvu account (free)
2) Send anything there using Bonvus address (C/O James Bond for example)
3) Log into Bonvu and create new expected shipment (declare value etc)
4) Once it arrives Bonvu notifies you.
5) Select it to be shipped
6) Choose carrier (think they use USPS / DHL / FEDEX)
7) They will send you invoice for shipping and their fee, once paid they get it sent

They can also purchase on your behalf but that inccurs a additional fee.

Any queries just send BONVU an email, they are very good!!

PS - they like to repack things to save you money therefore if you want to keep original box etc mention it in the notes when creating an incoming shipment (otherwise they will repack it to cut down your shipping cost)

They are also good at consolidating stuff. I must have had a few things at their warehouse for at least 2 months whislt I was waiting for another item to be delivered (they then consolidate it all into one package)
