James Bond/Doctor Who parallels.

I saw this topic being discussed on a different forum a while back and I thought it would make an interesting discussion point here.
There are a number of striking (and almost spooky) similarities between the James Bond film franchise and the televised version of Doctor Who. Namely:
1) Doctor Who will be celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year, just a year after that of the Bond films.
2) Both went on hiatus in 1989.
3) Both have an actor with only one on-screen outing (George Lazenby for Bond, Paul McGann for Doctor Who).
4) Tom Baker played the role of The Doctor at the same time Roger Moore was in James Bond. Both are the longest serving actors in their respective roles to date and both are known for their more humorous takes on them.
5) Both are renowned for their attractive female "companions", though The Doctor is less inclined to shag them.
How else do the two compare? And what other franchises bear a close resemblance to Bond?
