Dr. No continuity

After recently watching Dr. No again I couldn't help but noticing how many terrible continuity mistakes there are during James Bonds introduction at the Casino table. Most people have probably noticed some of these in the past but let it pass because it's the first film and such a legendary scene but the errors really are there for all to be seen. Bonds hands are never in anywhere near the same position between most shots, which is actually poor filmmaking.
Great film overall though. 8/10

I noticed this, but From Russia with Love (ironically my favorite Bond film, period) has even more continuity issues. I can think of over a dozen related to the film's cars and trucks alone.

Ahh....the evil's of DVDs! Back in ancient times, when film goers like myself could only see the film at it's normal edited pace nor matter how many viewings we went to, such mistakes were almost impossible to notice. You're enjoying the moment so much with your hands covered in popcorn butter that unless there was an enormous Ed Woods type of continuity error, minor ones that are onscreen for a blink of an eye were just not noticed. If you need to find fault, point your finger at modern technology.

How can this person not know that objects (the lamp) look bigger if they are closer to the camera then they look in a medium shot? I have talked to small children who don't know this, but never an adult. )

But the video is still interesting. Some errors can be explained by sloppy continuity work, but not all. The most puzzling is the number of steps in the stairs. It's very hard to explain that one by calling it an error. Did they use two exterior locations that looked almost identical? Strange ….
