In yesterdays Sun newspaper , ( its not mine by the way) there is a article
about the making of a mini series about MR Fleming,but its only going to be on Sky atlantic ?
it is going to tell the masters story about his life ,in the navy /Bond ect
can any body throw any light on this

From what I can recall when this was first announced, 'Fleming' is a 4-part co-production by Sky Atlantic and BBC America and is set only during World War Two, ie focusing on Fleming's own spy experiences. It stars Dominic Cooper in the title role and I believe it's due to air towards the end of this year.

Well, it can be much worse than that monstrosity from a few years back with Sean Connery's son as Fleming. . .

Just watched the trailer. Looks enjoyable, but I simply cannot imagine Dominic Cooper as Fleming. There's just no physical resemblance at all. I can accept a little bit of literary licence with the plot but I sincerely hope that Cooper has done his homework and is suitably plummy and affected otherwise I will have a huge problem even imagining that this is the Ian Fleming, and not just another playboy/gambler/spy of the same name!

From a historical context, either the trailer is coblers, or the drama will be!

Fleming was a gambler, and he created Bond. However he was never a spy himself. He was one of the tactical eggheads, who had a desk job in the Navy's intelligence HQ. He came up with plans, and did want to take part in the field, but Admiral Godfrey always refused. - Fleming was too valuable to risk in the field.

I think Dominic Cooper will do well but in the end, this is drama not a documentary, so it will need to be taken with a massive pinch of salt!
