Yes, we are sure about the jacket in Skyfall. Barbour released these after the success of the movie and the demand for the original Tokito.

IMO, the remake looks much better than the original. The hood and wind flap are pretty ugly. I think that, if they'd known that this was in the works, most people would have waited. A lot of people who rushed to buy the Tokito during the Skyfall excitement are left rationalizing it by saying, "...at least I have the authentic version."

Gotta disagree Vinnymac... I picked up the Tokito.. and while I usually wear it without the hood.. in rotten inclement weather I zip it on.. and the storm flap on those days serves the intended purpose... While my motivation for picking it up was the 007 connection.. I don't pretend to be Bond when wearing it... it is a functional piece of gear... definitely glad I got the version with the extra bells & whistles for practical reasons..

I think it can go the other way also. Check out the recent Billy Reid thread where people aren't happy with the "remake"/"release" and the ones who rushed to buy the peacoat during the Skyfall excitement are now pretty happy

I don't understand why they need to rationalise it at all. They can still go out and get the new coat if they want. The originals are still fetching a very high premium too, so they could sell that and get the new one plus make some money. Why would anyone regret that?
