    I hope the Scot gets smashed, can't stand him. Even more so when he declared he always supports the other person/team when (someone from) England plays.

    Well, his ABE crap certainly did him no favours in England (erm, the home of 'middle class' tennis), unless, of course, he truly believed it?

    And there were no flags drapped round AM after he won that I saw?? Though Salmond was flapping a Saltaire with all his strength behind DC(ameron).

    And Andy does live in the very un-Scottish Surrey. Ya.

    We aren't really still holding that stupid comment against him are we? He hasn't expressed anything approaching that sort of sentiment in years. I'm for the Union I'm afraid :p

    What an afternoon, thrilling! Well done Andy.

    Oh...I don't mind that...from people that ACTUALLY live there...or from people that don't use the 'convenience of the flag'....sadly he falls into both camps....

    Indeed, and brilliantly done. I can't imagine the pressure he must have felt...now that he's done it, I bet his tennis gets better. What a fab weekend, The Lions and now this...keeping the spirit alive from last year. Great stuff -{

    Actually yes he has:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/tennis/wimbledon/5567314/Wimbledon-2009-Andy-Murray-sets-record-straight-on-anti-England-reputation.html

    It was a joke he made with an interviewer, nothing more than a joke.
    The journalist said to me 'So Andy are you going to be supporting Scotland in the World Cup?', knowing that Scotland hadn't qualified and he started laughing.
    So he asked me who I would be supporting in the World Cup, and I said 'Anyone but England ha-ha' and all of a sudden it's the biggest story ever.
