thought I would revive this thread and share my recent TF experience at their Beverly Hills locale.
I quite liked the service, staff and especially the products. I took my Quantum midnight navy suit to be altered. I was a bit hesitant because I didn't call ahead nor did I buy it at their store. Furthermore the alterations I needed required a good degree of skill. I walked in and was greeted properly, I explained quickly why I was there and was led immediately to their fitting rooms where one of their lead tailors was brought out to fix the "problems" and sharpen up the suit. (If they actually accomplish what needs to be done remains to be seen. I had some excess cloth taken in at the shoulder seams, the pants hemmed and the cuffs shortened to my proper length). The tailor seemed confident and I was checked in on while he was fitting by two different TF employees to make sure everything was going smoothly.
The alterations were NOT cheap but I did not expect them to be. After I was given a little "tour" of their store, tried on some of their fragrances as well as some of their new O' Connor Skyfall suit cuts (I do prefer the Quantum cut over the Skyfall versions but they are still nice). I also tried on the Skyfall tuxedo or a version of it. Same as the film except it had upturned cuffs which is not really a look that I fancy.
I do want to report that their inner care and suit size tags have changed in appearance. Some may notice it on newer suits popping up on ebay. The TOM FORD logo label has stayed the same though.
Overall the experience was very pleasant and rather routine. I did ask the staff about Daniel Craig and the upcoming Bond stuff. Apparently it is all being kept under tight wraps and most employees will just shy away from the subject but they all said pretty much what David already confirmed, that Craig will wear Ford again.
So yes, I will definitely be going back (well, to pick up my suit of course!). I will let everyone know how the alterations turn out but if you live near the Beverly Hills area its DEFINITELY worth it to take a trip down to TF if anything just to see the quality of stuff they produce.
To top it off, was able to park right across the street. View from my car
rather unassuming from the front but the design on the inside is rather stunning with panes of tall glass, dark oak wood paneling and strategically placed lighting everywhere. -{
