have to say I really enjoyed Roger's performance in this film, which begs the question: Why didn't he play Bond like this?? He was ruthless (forces a drug baron he worked for to eat cocaine and shoots the other in the head), and had an edge about him, in other words, his language was colourful. Made me think, had he played Bond like this, it would have been closer to a darker interpretation than what he portrayed. Don't get me wrong, I think Roger was a fine Bond, but this performance made me think,What if???

Moore is on record as saying he didn't want to make his Bond too nasty, as he was a kids' role model and anyway, surely nobody could believe in the character anyway.

a brilliant pairing. -{
Anybody have any thoughts as to why that doesn't that come through in Moore's Bond films? Perhaps the fight cooridnator(s) has something to do with it, but that doesn't entirely account for Moore's awkward way of throwing a punch or delivering a kick. And to be honest, although I haven't seen the entire movie, I have seen Moore's fight with Lee Marvin in Shout At The Devil, and I wasn't that impressed with his moves there, either. Not hating, just saying.
As to Rog looking awkward in fight scenes, I have never had any problems believing he could do someone some damage after all he was a former captain in the British army. To be honest one of my favourite fight scenes in the Bond series is the dressing room brawl in TMwtgg.
