I was talking to someone of apparent intelligence the other day and they we on about someone 'tweeting' them, they tweeted back, received another tweet and a tweet war breaks out.... blah blah blah. I couldn't help but think "have you listened to yourself mate? Tweeting? Like a bird? W.T.F."

The best thing is this dangling the carrot 'please like me, please' begging tactic.

If you have to bribe someone to like you, doesn't that tell you something?

I don't think so. Looking at the giveaway details on the FB page it says you would win the updated Istanbul tie before it appears on the site for everyone else.

Magnoli - Clever marketing tactics and I hope they are successful for you. I always feel there is an element of segregation to this. Still, lots of companies do it and it seems to work.


M & Mini G - I agree with both of you all the way! I don't trust Faceb**ger or T*a**er either! I am on Linked In for business reasons only. No holiday snaps or "I'm gossiping about so-and-so" there.

Actually this is the case with myself too. Personally, I don't use Facebook, or any other "social networking" sites at all. It's a good business tool though, as you say, I don't like the idea of segregating people from these contests. That being said, the main page is public so anyone can view updates and news, basically like reading a blog, which is the main reason why I had this started... as a place for posting news on a regular basis.

The contest is over and the winner has been chosen and contacted. And, he's a Bond fan... so I'm guessing he'll be choosing the newly redesigned Istanbul Tie.

More events will be coming... a photo contest next most likely.
