Where the Hell did Quantum go?!
When M met Q
"I told you what you wanted to know about Quantum." said Dominic Greene.
And that was the last mention of this shadowy terrorist organization. I know a lot of them were arrested/died after the opera scene, but White survived and we've seen what he's capable of!
Seeing as the Daniel Craig bonds are prequels to the storyline, maybe the next Bond film will be about hunting down Quantum? MI6's heroics in the court hearing in Skyfall might have granted them the PM's backing to go after them. Maybe a member of Quantum (or even Mr. White himself) is put through a terrible ordeal and injured in part of the film and hospitalized, presumed to die. At the end of the film, when James Bond bangs the Bond girl and drives away - the girl is taken to Mr. White.
"Mr. White I presume?"
"I used to go by that name..." White trails off vaguely, sat in a leather chair turned away from her. "But you can call me Ernest Stavro Blofeld..." he continued. White slowly turns in his chair, carrying a perfect "White" cat in one arm, as the other arm extends a finger, posed over a little red button built into the arm of his chair.

Bond:'Sir, you wanted to see me?'
M: Sit down, 007...(Brings out black For your eyes only folder)
Bond: Is there something wrong, sir?
M:It's Quantum, we didn't know they existed till seven years ago, after your 'holiday' in Bosnia the trail's gone completely cold.
Bond: That's right sir...
M:Well, something's finally come up...

Exactly!
No. As has been talked about many, many, many times, the Craig era marks a "reboot"--a start-over that pretty well pretends Bonds #1-20 either didn't happen or happened in an alternate universe.

There was a defining moment filmed for Mr White...but it was decided not to use it...I wonder why that was....
I would love to think it was foresight on Eon's part, rather than Marc Forster's apparently pathological obsession with making the shortest Bond film ever...

From what I remember....it was excluded as the behest of the producers...but i dont think Forster was over happy with it anyway...
I'm sure you're right...but it certainly didn't serve QoS, which IMO already had its share of challenges with the writers' strike. We'll see if it bears future fruit. I'd like to see a fully-evolved Craig Bond lay Quantum low in #24 or #25; that would be a nice development.

Could be....if they let him.

Either way, I doubt any decision is 100% at this point. If the Making of Documentaries have shown me anything, it's that a lot of the production changes could be made last minute. We are still a ways from filming starting, so they could really take it a myriad of different ways.
I personally think a 100% decision has been made - either way....at the very least a treatment would have been written for 24, if not a first draft - otherwise Mendes wouldn't have agreed to direct...and that draft would reflect whether its a two parter or not...unless they scrap it and start again...but that wouldn't seem feasible given the time frame and Mendes being in position to direct...
But its Eon...so I suppose anything could happen )
The rumor was that Logan finished his script in May. Mendes changed his mind and in July agreed to direct Bond 24. You do the math.
Which (over chatter of them resurfacing, growing, changing) grows a few more tendrils to become a new-yet-familar SPECTRE logo...
