I don't know if anyone's ever seen this or if it's ever been posted (chances are it has), but I stumbled across this interesting pic of daniel craig wearing a white version of the Tom Ford QoS harrington. nice jacket obviously, but I'm glad he wore the navy one in the movie...lol
anyways just thought I'd share.

ah, I see. thanks for the info. I was under the impression only the harringtons with the leather collar were for sale to the public. the navy version of the one you're wearing aka the movie version was never for sale to the public though right? those harringtons are so nice. I can't take it. lol
jackets like that are the reason I wish I was swimming in cash and had nothing else to buy except nice clothing.
Actually, the navy version, and the tan version seen above, were both for sale at TF, but they sold out very quickly as TF doesn't make large runs of his clothes. There's typically one piece in each size, per store, and that's it. TF did produce a version without the leather collar that was spot-on to the "QoS" jacket - the only difference was the leather details around the pockets.
You can see pics of the jacket I purchased in this thread (Posts #12 and #14) - http://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/36529/tom-ford-harrington-jacket/
Kind regards,
Craig
wow, they really only produce one of each size at each of the stores? that's crazy, no wonder not many people have the jacket then. Guess that's kind of cool though because it adds to the overall value of the jacket. your jacket with the leather accents on the pockets looks amazing. I'd actually prefer to own that one over the screen worn version. the leather is such a minor detail, but adds so much elegance to a casual jacket like that & is something you obviously don't see on any other kind of harrington that's out there on the market. I bet that cost a pretty penny though. If I could own one piece of TF clothing, it'd definitely be that jacket.
A couple of the supposedly "skinny", "not-man-enough" Brosnan suits have appeared in auctions... and they have been listed showing a 40 fit.
Ah, the magic of the movies. You stand a smallish guy next to guys who are similar size or smaller and he looks bigger. Ask Rocky - it works for him.
That would only work if they both had identical muscle size, proportions, and percentage of bodyfat...
On a serious note, stripping body fat off someone can make a HUGE difference in what size they wear. Taking a guy from 11% bodyfat (already fairly lean) down to about 6% (very cut) can drop their clothes sizing a full size. I've seen this happen with friends who prepare for shows - as fat can take up three times the physical space as muscle (depending on where on the body it is) you can have two guys who are both 5'11" and 180 lbs yet wear their clothes in different sizes. Or, even better, the SAME guy :-) as he gets more fit.
And to give a bit more perspective, I have a 42" chest but often wear a size 38 jacket. Yet this weekend I tried on two different jackets at two different stores and had to wear a size 36! Sizing, especially in North America, is so messed up that it really is "just a number"...
I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to imply here (that Craig isn't as buff as he appears on screen?), but keep in mind the style and cut of Brosnan's Brioni suits are dramatically different than Craig's Tom Ford stuff.
Just having a jest generally.
Merely that while Craig might be made to look more muscular than Brosnan with gym work, diet, clothing styles etc: however, Brosnan is a naturally bigger man (height, general bone structure,).
The suits sizes are the actually suit sizes the men themselves wore regardless of the difference in cut of the manufacturer; and remember, Craig also wore Brioni in CR.
The joke about the differing size of actors and the magic of the movies was exactly that. Cinema is all about the portrayal of the unreal and convincing an audience that what they are seeing is real. These trick can include various technques to make a man look bigger than he really is.
So to be clear, I am very realistic that I am NOT built like Bond....

Wow I love this jacket, even more so in this colour
What are the chances Daniel Love could make this jacket?
I'm studying for some exams and the thought of one day going on to the Royale Filmwear site and seeing a white Harrington in the lineup (that I can comfortably afford) is quite a motivator....
Daniel has stated a few times he just wants to concentrate on screen used items etc and not deviate towards DC's stuff.
Believe Tom Ford open to the idea but.... yup would require large numbers again!!!
I don't know if there would be enough demand for the White Harrington as the financial outlay for a project is probably substantial . Personally i would love to see the Talamone done in Navy
Welshboy78 do you know if Tom Ford would be willing to do other jackets they have produced for DC's Bond films?
I was thinking the one upside would that its ONLY $200 so if you really ruined it you could just buy another one
I think TF are willing to do most things but your looking at serious number of units / quantity's which make things near impossible. The QOS Harrington was testing but it was a iconic jacket. The others I doubt would generate such mass interest
