orlebar brown setter sizing question

So I picked up another pair of orlebar brown trunks, this time in size 30 (other bulldog pair was 32 and WAY too big) thinking it'd be a snug fit. I'm normally anywhere between a 30-32 in jeans. the fit on the size 30 is much better and isn't falling off my waist, but there's definitely still some room. I have the side tabs pulled as tight as they can go to get it snug enough to where it feels like they won't be too loose. These seem to run awfully big for a tailored pair of swim shorts.
I feel like if I exchanged them for a 28 they'd be too snug. so my question is, how does everyone else's fit? should there be a little bit of room in the waist? I know everyone's built differently but any help is appreciated.

I have a very similar pair of swim shorts and they fit me perfectly, or just a TINY bit snug - when they're dry. But as soon as I go swimming in them they loosen up considerably and slide down my hips a little. The fact that I wear them for swimming and not tanning means that I should have gotten a size smaller.
Of course, this helps explain why Craig's shorts have slid down in the infamous "coin slot" photo. While it's entirely possible they posed him that way on purpose (likely, given the reaction to the photo of my girlfriend and all her friends) the shorts could have also just slid down when he hauled himself up onto the pool deck.
yeah that's a good point. I definitely plan on wearing these to swim in & I think all swim trunks are bound to slide down your hips a little when wet unless they're skin tight.
they probably did pose craig like that on purpose to give the ladies something to look at. the guys get to drool over the action scenes, amazing wardrobe, and aston martin, and the girls get to drool over craig's crack. haha gotta please everyone I guess.
I think I'm just going to stick with the size I have though. I actually bought a cheap replica pair of the casino royale trunks on ebay that I plan on wearing underneath for some support and to keep everything in place while I'm moving around in the water or whatever. plus having a bit of extra material underneath fills up any loose space in between the OB trunks and my waist.

not a bad deal for $18, although it's not something I could wear just by itself. I need more muscles to do that. lol
I will say that every time I wear them (I bought them one or two summers after CR) women praise them, and they make the baggy, two-sizes-too-big board-short wearing guys at the pool or the beach look even more unsophisticated (not that that's difficult). It seems to me that the *style* of those trunks are what women appreciate, more than how muscle-y and cut the guy wearing them is (I'm certainly not as cut as Craig).
