Does anyone else dislike Craigs look for Skyfall?

So reading these forums i pick up the general feeling that you all love Craigs look for Skyfall... don't get me wrong, i loved the lodge outfit and the shanghai outfit, and the dinner suit was amazing. No my main problem lies with his suits for the film. I know that the fashion is for very slim cut, tight fitting suits, but i think that in Skyfall they just dont work. DC is a fit guy and is obviously stacked, but i feel the suits were just too tight. The trousers in the London chase scene looked comical! Also the suits lacked any real colour and looked dull, with a generally dark tie or one that was a very similar colour to the suit. I far preferred the cut of his suits in CR and even QOS. Im struggling to put my finger on in but i just didnt like the style, and it did take something from the film for me, being picky as i am...also disappointed to not see him don the polo shirt again....and his hair was too short...right im done.

I can agree on the suits but I liked Craig's hair.

I didn't have any problem with Craig's look in SF. Not saying I loved it - just didn't have any problem with it.

The latter really, but a bit stocky in those suits and in the way he moved.

I agree, he did look a bit stocky. Probably the biggest hes been out of the 3 films, but not as ripped as in CR.

this has been discussed a fair bit, and as usual there is a real mixed bag of responses ranging from the rabidly pro to the disgusted. Personally I agree, I also thought the look a bit 'fashion forward ' for Bond and a bit young. Agree that the Polo shirt is a killer look for Daniel, and for me references Big-Tam in GF & TB ( no bad thing in my book)

I was surprised that he went and 'military' with the hair again after sporting a very Connery-like look in QoS. The cut of the suits didn't particularly bother me, though they were very 'snug'-looking, and I'm sufficiently unsophisticated to not have minded. No serious complaints here from an appearance/presentation standpoint.

That was my single biggest problem with Skyfall, even more than the Severine issue. :007)

I always found Craig's haircut apart of his character development. In CR, it goes with his young and reckless attitude throughout the film. Then in QoS, he gets a new haircut to show he has changed from the death of Vesper. To show he has been damaged and grown from the experience. Now, in SF, his haircut represents how he is a more mature, experienced agent since the last time we saw him. So, to me, it fits the story arc.

Also, about his suits. I feel to blend in, Bond must stick with the times to not stick out of the crowd. If you think about it, Bond has been doing that throughout the series.

I think from an aesthetic standpoint, Craig's hair was that short style in SF because it looks better then the CR hairstyle which attempted to hide his receding hairline and the QOS looked good but sometimes looked like it overwhelmed his features. the SF hair frames his head the best, makes his jawline look more chiseled and pronounced.

Actually, upon watching QOS again, i would have to say DC looks his best in this one out of all of his Bond films, especially at the Green Party and the following scenes. Probably helped that he was really tan to compared to pale in SF.

Got to say I agree with Oakbark with the exception of the Istanbul suit the other suit and tie combos in the movie are dull. Too much grey and not enough contrast in the ties to liven up the suits.

Far better suits in CR and QOS (only thing in QOS that is better).

Loved the Skyfall lodge outfit and the Shanghai peacoat but for me a tie under a pullover always reminds me too much of how my granddad used to dress for Sunday dinner.

Thought Craig had really aged since QOS and as for his haircut, well he's going bald so they have to work with what they've got.

It seemed to me that the point behind the SF haircut had as much to do with the practical side of filmmaking as it did with the character. Keeping it that short made it easier for continuity in editing as well as less groom time between takes for his makeup person (which means less shooting time for everyone). Doing all those running stunts (and being on top of the train and on the yacht deck in particular) is less problematic when the hair is that short. Also it made him look a little older as it emphasized his sparse hairline - which was to emphasize his burnt out look at the beginning. In fact, from his clothes to his hair, it looked like Craig was trying to focus the attention on Bond in this story as more concerned about the level of physical abilities and less about being a suave, sophisticated, champagne holding playboy. They put the casino/tux scene in mainly for nostalgia as they could have had him meet with Severine at any large gathering (a celebratory or sporting event, etc.). I thought they did the right amount of mix in his costuming in SF, because in many scenes he got to be suited up but also wore practical, casual attire for the non- metropolitan scenes. In the old series they would not have had him change out of his suit after his arrival at Skyfall - and to address this particular point that others have mentioned as being a small plot hole, in that how did he happen to have that change of clothes at all - I had just figured that between the scene of him showing M the DB5 and the edit jump to them leaving the garage, he went into one of the crates he also stored there that had some casual clothes he may have kept just as a backup - in case he had to make just such a getaway for whatever reason , grabbed the change in gear and threw them in the boot. Why would he have a backup change of clothes stored there? Why not? If I was in his line of work, it would make perfect sense to me. I'd even have a flask of whisky and some bottled water on hand. Weapons? Not to sure I'd do that, since they could be stolen. Besides, the DB5 had those machine guns.
