The charcoal BR peacoats at Neiman Marcus are 100% wool. There's also a specialty men's retailer in my area with the Navy (M, L and XXL) that are the 80/20 blend. Honestly I thought the blend drapes a little better and the all-wool is a little stiffer. At least off the rack of course, not sure how the respective fabrics will age.
I don't have a huge problem with BR changing the fabric, since the original all-wool run was intended to be a "limited edition" (although as we all know the item had the "Bond" name and was a standard item even before the movie). This way the people who bought the first run still have the "limited edition", while the second run in the blend fabric made the coat available to a wider audience.
I have a J Crew Bayswater peacoat 100% wool. I'm wondering if anyone has one and can compare the wool between that and the 100% Bond one. Thanks.
I don't know if it's a Bayswater but I saw a Crew peacoat in a consignment store yesterday and it runs at least two sizes larger than the BR. Freakin' tent!
