Patience is the key and the ability to play your cards close to your chest. Once your patience is rewarded (this can take several years) and you have an example of the item you have coveted then you can start to dribble the information out to trusted confidents and fellow collectors that you've met along the way. During your quest you will turn up unexpected items and information that you can trade with your compadres. It is quite rewarding seeing examples that you've identified drop into the hands of your friends for a song and in time, as word gets out see the value soar as more and more collectors flock to your discovery like moths to a flame (oh yes, occasionally we all get burned, but I accept that this is all part of the game we play). Remember, value is what an item is worth to you, not anybody else. Above all else, have fun with it, don't be afraid to ask, we don't all bite ..... Well Danjaq_Off does, but only when he's wearing the gimp suit
As you may have noticed there is also a lot of banter on this site too.
RULE ONE: Never take it to heart, and banter back.
Collect what you like, don't collect things just because you think they're an investment, it should be as much about, if not more about your passion and interest for bond, not a way of making money.
OI!!! I dress like that!!!!!! It's cool. And if you disagree with that then expect a quite fine physical example of Naja naja to come through your door.....
You got a smaller snake ASP? that things taller than Micro Senior's door
It is amazing what they make out of rubber theses days

Yeah, you can even have a 3D printed Bondtots figurine to keep your kids away from the fire.

Wouldn't something that grotesque make the little knee huggers do the opposite?
And remember: collect what you like, enjoy your collecting, research the ass off of the Holy Grail items as Donk does....Modestly! Enjoy said quests, the buzz is in the hunt -{

You need some of that special stuff to make it fly though,
Now you are talking! Strawberry flavour Nesquick powder! Add milk and you have calcium induced rocket fuel! Yazoo works too, but with less fuel efficiency.
I'm beginning to think there was somethin not right with that Yakult I had this evening. Must have been from a funny Cow-Moo.
Psychedelic dairy drinks aside, its true, collect something because you enjoy it and it inspires you. Those who try to collect for profit are usually bitterly disappointed. If you are going for something special (art, antiques, movie collectables) etc do your research thoroughly, and always stay within budget. Otherwise it always ends in regret.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Tracking down rare stuff is something special. It makes that item personally worth all the more. But it can take months of really hard work to get that item you really want. Just because it isn't available publicly, doesn't mean it's not available. It just means hard work and following up. As well as a load of investigative trawling and persistence.
The internet isn't always your friend, ignore Buy-it-Now prices on eBay, many of the so called specialist memorabilia and die-cast sites try to sell items at massively inflated prices and more often than not if a price seems too good to be true, it probably is!
If there's something in particular you're looking for ask here first, often collectors have duplicates, but be prepared to pay handsomely if the item is rare!
Easy - Decide what you like most about James Bond and that will guide you. Personally for me collecting came late in the day. I had several items which I had seen Bond wearing since the 90's which for me was about the time I had the cash to buy the pricier items (like my first Omega Quartz SMP). My collection of Bond items grew piece by piece over time 10 years plus.
Now I like to every so often dress in the style of bond with a mixture of real accessories or clothing items but with my own twist. It generally gets noticed and attracts pleasant comments which is nice though never sought. I buy to use not as an investment though some items i own now have a price like my TF108's I bought for £150 back in 2008 and have had 5 years service from them and if money got tight I could probably sell used for more than I paid. But that is incidental not planned profit.
Good luck and welcome to the club your first purchase will not be your last!
Last tip shop around and don't bid on anything on eBay (as I may be watching it as well!)
Cheers B-)
P.S Read the pages on this site there is lots of good info here I was a regular reader for years before I came out!
My name is Bond, Basildon Bond - I have letters after my name!

Probably best you don't confuse that with a moo cow MG. A moo cow looks like this...
I collect things I like to collect, when budget, EBay or my tailor make it possible.

Not if you put it on the mantelpiece. Such an ugly SOB figurine would repel anything that looked too close.

I guess that he used the traditional method and put her somewhere cold and let the inevitable happen :v
