Dyeing cords to get the Skyfall 'Bitter Chocolate' colour?

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.... But I have a question about dyeing.
I have a pair of black cords that i would like to dye to match the 'Bitter Chocolate' colour of Bond's cords in Skyfall. I think I recall someone here said it could be achieved by a 50% black and 50% dark brown dye mix... But do I have to bleach them first? Or if dying onto the black base, will I only need to dye them dark brown to get the desired effect overall?
Any tips appreciated, thanks!

Posters here have said that they did a 50/50 mix of brown and black, and the resulting colour is a VERY dark brown. I saw a pair of cords at Banana Republic last year that were a very dark brown with an almost purple-ish tinge to them and that seemed to me to be the colour to go for. Of course, being Banana Republic these "slim" cords were HUGE and looked terrible when I tried them on.
I think that if one took black cords they would be so dark already that you would not be able to see any colour that you tried to add to them. If you want to go screen accurate I think you'd need a lighter pair and then dye them with that 50/50 black/brown mix. However, that's an assumption on my part...
Turn your nuts brown?
I may just try the brown dye and see if it at least gives a slightly brown edge to the black (if that makes any sense at all) as a kind of homage to Bitter Chocolate...
Maybe it will work. Have they been washed? If these are machine washable, black never stays completely black after a few washings.
