Cheap Tetbury's

Hey guys,

Apologies if this has already been posted, but Edwards of Manchester is having their 20% off (with discount code) sale that applies to their C&J stock, including Tetbury's. It's a great deal especially since they deduct VAT for overseas purchases.

Code: sep2013

You won't get the Tets. I placed an order a couple of days ago and they are out of stock. Took them two days to tell me, and another three before I get a refund.

Damn...disappointing Asp9mm! Was looking forward to owning a pair, and the discount made it more easier on my wallet. I'll see what happens, but guess it's back to the world of dreams again. I ordered them before I saw your post, will update on what happens.

Restocking on 9's and 9.5's is about six weeks too, so the code will be out of date by then :#

They should really state on the site that it stuff is out of stock. I've ordered from them a few times and they've got back to me a few days later saying they are out of stock. That's on the suede Tets too X-( Really annoying as your money remains in limbo for at least 7 days while they refund.

That's crap-I agree they should give you some idea that they're out of stock. Ordered with my credit card, so it's not like I'm without the money, in the same way if I used a debit card. Not pissed off...would have been nice to own a pair though!

That really sucks. And sometimes you lose money on the refund too when the exchange rate fluctuates.

I was about to order a pair too at that price! :#

I think they have the smaller and larger sizes. Size 8 and below and 10.5 up. It's the 8.5s to 10's they are out of.

went thru the order process, they did not discontinue the VAT. Do they do that after the fact?

Are you outside of the EU? I registered and they deducted the VAT automatically.

Update: Placed an order for Tet's that were sold out in my size. You have the option of waiting 3-4 weeks while they replenish their stock (which is what I did). In which case they'll still honour the discounted price.

Honestly, waiting isn't that big of a deal; it still feels like summer here in Canada.

Unfortunately, the code no longer works :(

Hi guys, the morning after the evening I ordered two pairs, got an email from Mark, and told me the 9's were out of stock, but they would send the 9.5's on to me, and if they didn't suit, I could return them. They will get the 9's in a few weeks, and as far as I know, they'll still have the discount! So can't complain about the service so far, and they responded to all my emails promptly. Just have a bit of a potential wait if they 9.5's don't suit me.

Hi guys, nobody had any success with Edwards? My 9.5s didn't fit and sent them back. However, still haven't got a refund despite saying they had issued one when I sent them back. I got onto my bank on Thursday who confirmed one hadn't been sent. I sent Edwards an email on Thursday about the refund, and the fact that my size 9 Tetburys didn't arrive yet, despite being told they were a few weeks away. Haven't heard anything from them again, so think I'm left with no choice but to raise a dispute with my bank who should hopefully take my money back. Been without over 500 pound since mid September now.

On another note, I would still like my Tetburys but think I will order them from Crockett and Jones, if no success with Edwards. Would it be slightly cheeky to ask if C and J would give me anything off my order with them? I may buy a pair of Islays soon too, would it be worth buying both at the same time and asking for a bit of money off them both?

Sorry to hear about your dilemma!!

Edwards is a fairly established store so hopefully its just a crappy sloppy admin thing and you get your money back (no excuses of course)

I honestly really can't see C&J giving you any discount, they don't appear that kind of store and they certainly don't need the business to offer discounts on multiple purchases. Always worth a cheeky try however I think its totally unheard of and they would not want to set a precedent by offering a customer discount.

On the other hand C&J is great to deal with directly and I always use them, they always keep you up to date and ship outside UK ex VAT with not issues at all! I tend to buy when I'm in the UK directly from their London branches but have ordered a fair few times online also!

PS - the Tetburys are fantastic and having owned various Church and C&J etc I would buy C&J each time, so comfortable!

    Hey Scotty,

I ordered a pair of Tetbury's during the sale and haven't received mine yet either. My size was sold out but they said they would send me one once the new shipment came in (so they still have my money too).

That said, just call EoM directly. They've always been helpful over the phone.

Just picked up the Tetburys at C&J in NYC a few days ago, and it seems like they had enough in stock still, dont know if that helps anyone.

I picked up a pair as well at C&J in NYC last month. They will forgo the local tax and play like they are shipping to your home address. A nice savings.

Hi guys, I did eventually get my Tetburys over the weekend. However, tried them on today, and there's still a bit of room where the toe of the shoe begins to narrow. I had thought the 9s would definitely fit me better, than the 9.5s, as I thought I only needed half a size up. I know there's not much room with the shoe narrowing and for shoes, you're always best having a bit of room, but wondered if the 8.5s would be worth a try? Which I'm reluctant to do having got the 9.5s, 9s, etc. The 9s are okay when they're on, but with the laces tied, I can slip my feet out of them, without having to untie the shoes.
