Bonding With My Train Set

I've just been given the gift of a 00 gague railway and I'm looking once I get my loft cleared to create a diorama for it.
Now I was wanting to add a few 007 touches without creating any particular scenes.
There is not a DB5 or Lotus Esprit in 1:76 scale anywhere! :-(
However I've found a Bentley which could pass as the car of the literary 007 and I'm just after a bit of advice about if this would have been the same car before I get one.
This is it on amazon:

Any feedback on this or ideas if what else I could do would be much appreciated.
I thought I could make some Octopussy Circus signs for the trains perhaps??
Also if anyone else has a 00 gauge railway set and has any help/tips etc it'd be much appreciated.

You might not be able to get exact cars etc, but you could have some fun modifying some models. You could get a routemaster bus for instance, chop the roof off and paint it blue, park it on a jetty for a LALD scene, or use a Daimler limo for a TND briefing scene etc.
I think buying stuff off the shelf is gonna limit your range of models somewhat, so if I were you I'd get the closest available and reach for the dremel and paints...
Here's the Oxford link for 1:76 1960,s era models;

Hope this helps

You could look for matchbox cars, or even this "shell" limited version..

Will your railway be to a particular past timeframe, set in the mordern era, or be different pieces?
A bit smaller in scale (H0 1:87) but a fitting engine for the Octopussy train would be the German class 62 tank loco. The train scenes were shot in England, so the locomotive seen is a British 2-6-4 tank loco somewhat disguised as an East German engine with large wind deflectors and the number 62 015. The real 62 015 was a museum locomotive in the GDR and still used for steam excursion trains well after the Geman unification, so a model of the DR museum engine was available from Liliput as item no. 106202. The class 62 was a 4-6-4 tank loco but this difference is not so clearly visible in the film.
I'd actually just been unpacking some of my 007 stuff into my new '007 attic office' and found a spare Shell DB5 - the number plate will need changing but next to a model train it looks great!
A few may specialise in classic vehicles as well as modern stuff in the appropriate scale. My own advice on top of this is to check any local model shops that may be within reach. - Sorry I can't bring more to the table.
Although the scale isn't far off, it's a little too far from the needed 1:76. The other issue with the scalextric micro cars is that they're a kind of 'chunky' representation of their respective subjects and not a 100% scale miniature, bit like micro machines.
TB2's pop has the best idea, trawl the ads. Budget depending, there are ways of getting pretty much anything at the right scale.
Check out Cararama's Aston Martin DB5 in 1:72, believe they do a DB7 too.
Oh and one other thing, if I were you I'd choose one scale for the cars and stick to it. A 1:72 DB5 parked alongside a 1:76 mini might look a bit out of place.
Hope this helps,
