John Smedley prices on ebay

Can shed some light on this for me. John Smedley items tend to be reasonably pricey (though not excessively so), but there are sellers on ebay who offer JS stuff for significantly less than the retail price, and more often than not, the items are also new with tags.

I've purchased two sweaters from sellers like this, the Bobby in 'Petrol' and the Hughes in 'Indigo'. Both came with the usual JS tags/branded plastic wrap, and they feel legitimate in terms of material and quality, so I don't think they're fake (who would fake a brand like John Smedley?) But I'm curious as to how they can offer these items at such discounts? Like 49 GBP instead of 125? Is it a case of old stock/out of production colours sitting around that they may have picked up in bulk from JS?

Also, I'm stuck at the moment between getting the screen-accurate Bobby in black for around $200 CDN, or the same model but in 'Bluebell' for less than half that price. I've developed quite a liking for JS.

You'll find the heavily discounted stuff are old season stock. Johnsmedleyoutlet.com has those kind of prices for stuff no longer available in their shops.

You'll also notice the discounted stuff is in special colours. You won't find the black bobby vneck heavily reduced as that is a staple.

Like you I have a new interest in john smedley since learning about them from skyfall. I would recommend getting the black bobby. It is versatile and I use it for work and casual wear.

    They really are nice jumpers!
I've had the same dilemna but no matter how many bargain price colours you buy, you'll still want the black one!
That's where I am at he moment.
