Wall Street Trousers sizing and small tidbit

I was wondering how these trousers fit according to people who own them. I'm considering pulling the trigger on a pair. Especially now that they brought back the version that has the DAKS tops instead of the belts loops.

Anyone wanna chime in here?

They are quite slim fit. I had to size up then get the waist taken in. The problem I had was the fit on my calves rather than thigh which is the usual problem I have wth slim fits.

    Lovely trousers

Agree with kadd - they are relatively slim throughout and if push came to shove, I'd be tempted to 'size up' on the waist.

    Stunning trousers though.

Couldn't agree more with the posts above. I also had to go up a size.

Mr Maloy is correct, they are stunning!

I bought my usual size and they were too small, sold them and sized up and they fit but very tight and im too scared to wear them out as can imagine them splitting lol

If you have big legs then they are going to be tight, they even hug my calf muscles!!

Two more questions. Are they warm? I know it's supposed to be part of a winter outfit in the movie. But they look like your standard thin worsted wool. Would I be better off getting a pair of wool flannel pants as part of this look or what?

The other. Would anyone be willing to provide measurements of the size 48 and size 50? It says on the website that a 48 waist measures out to be 33 inches so would this be equivalent to a size 32 American waist? I usually wear a 30 so I was definitely planning on sizing up.

Hi guys, I assume I'd maybe need to go for a 52? I'm around a 35 inch waist at the moment. I've been put off buying them, as I'm not at the weight I'd like to be at, I'd like to be 34. Should I hold off, or would it be easy enough to take them in? I'm wanting to pull the trigger on them too, like Batman. I know they have straps on the waist, that you can pull in tighter?

    Am I missing something here?
I have no idea what these trousers are or when Bond wore them?
Was it the Shanghai outfit with the black V neck jumper?

    Yep, that's the scene.

I'm currently a 33" waist, and I find the 52s to be a bit loose still, but nice fitting in the legs. The 50's fit in the waist, but were really tight in the thighs. So I had the 52s taken in.

Scotty, I have a new pair (with tags) in size 54 (36" waist) that I'd be willing to sell below the price on the Acne site if you want to PM me and maybe set something up.

Hi guys, tried the 52s, which I got today. Good fit (even on the legs) but would be tempted to see what the bigger size is like. It's really only tight around my upper thighs, and even then nowhere near as tight as I expected. I wouldn't want them too baggy around my waist (where I thought I would have problems!) which my 52s fit perfectly around! So would any of you suggest I size up? I only have a limited time to send back the 52s, so it'd be a case of ordering the 54s, and comparing them, and sending back one of them. Should have really ordered both at the same time.

If the 52 fits on the waist then the 54 will definitely need to be taken in. But you can always get the waist taken in, but you can't get the thighs let out.

I wanted my Acne's to use for work which has me sitting for large parts of the day so I couldn't have them too tight in the thighs.

Hi kadd, sounds if keeping the 52s might be the thing to do then. As I say, happy with the fit around the waist, and I'm not even at the size of waist I want to be at, so getting a size bigger might be silly for me. Do you think I would notice any improvement below the waist, in terms of being more loose around the legs, or are the trousers pretty much the same 'tight-ness' whatever size you plump for?

I wouldn't be wearing my trousers for work, probably meals out, nights out, that kinda thing, so maybe a decent amount of time, but wouldn't be wearing them 9-5, 5 days a week, for example.

Hi Scotty, if you're planning to go down in your waist and the 52 fits you now, then maybe keep them. If you're planning to lose weight then your thighs will probably get smaller also, so the fit there will loosen up.

Regarding your question around tightness, as you size up the leg dimensions definitely increase. That's the reason I sized up. I needed the extra room on my calves. I found the smaller size to fit so snuggly on my calves that as I moved they rode up and wouldn't fall naturally.

Can you ring the retailer to extend your return period for the 52 so you can try the 54? If you're like me better to try both so you can rest easy. If not this kind of thing would bug me!

Hi kadd-first of all, thanks for the advice to date. Yeah, that was my thought. I am planning to lose weight (why I hate buying designer clothes at the moment-I don't want to be left with a load of clothes that are too big for me! Though I'm very far off Danny Craig at the moment, but I do like his style) so that's why I that's why I think I'd stick with the 52s. Like I say, leg room isn't a problem for me, not uncomfortably so, bit tigher and does ride up a bit when I sit, but falls naturally when I stand. I live in an area where it'd be quite hard to get someone to take them in..I mean, be hard to get someone I would trust with a 200 pound pair of pants! I ordered from Men Look, the website says I get a refund if I return things in 7 days, but 30 days to get store credit/exchange. They didn't have the 54s, or any other sizes, so decided to buy them in case I left them and missed out-another thing that would bug me! Got them for 183 pounds, another reason why I'm reluctant to try the size up-I'll do myself out of the money I saved in the first place. I'm thinking of how they would be with the Tetburys...I have them on the way too. Will the tops of them fit in under my trousers with them tapering quite a bit at the bottom.

Re the tetbury's, they fit under the acnes fine for me. And I don't think anyone here has a problem. The tetbury's are quite a sleek boot with no tabs or anything in the heel to stop the trouser leg sitting nicely.

Let us know how you get on when you C&Js arrive.

Hi kadd, probably will keep them then-that was my other concern about the tightness of the trouser, that it would be awkward with the C and Js. I will let you know how I get on-I have my Cos shirt and tie coming, Tetburys coming and....oh yes...then I will have my first Bond costume with the exact pieces he wore!

Just how much more room do you get in the thighs from a size 50 to a 52? Or even a size 50 to a 54? I have pretty muscular thighs, but the 50 made me worried I'd tear the pants as I was even too scared of sitting in them.

LOL at the fit pics on the Acne website. Why not just wrap oneself in cellophane?
