was given a tub of gentle mans relish, by a relative ,who knew one to be a Bond fan,
never one to turn down free food and accepted gift with relish if you pardon the pun,
anyway, turns out MR & Mrs Havelock are having it in a sandwich In FYEO (book not film)
just wondered if any one has had this acquired treat ?

By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

To be quite honest , I simply couldn't handle it ................... one of the worst things I've ever tasted !! )
It's commonly referred to as it's brand name Patum peperium...my Dad introduced this to me when I was quite young...and I think it's a bit like marmite, in the fact you either love it or hate it (not the taste, obviously)
Love it on hot buttered toast, but less is very much more...
Well it's VERY salty...so I would choose a nicely chilled vodka martini, or a glass of Prosecco. -{
And use it sparingly...you can always add more :v
OMG I nearly spat my wine all over the screen when I read this, especially because of my following comment )
And allI can say is, it's all about the taste ;%
of a salty spray on his face from time to time. He also
mentioned gentlemens relish but in a different way.

I did wonder what the bloomin heck you were on about in the first place...I wasn't sure if you were being serious or not )
