Does anyone know if a large would fit a 40/42 chest.. The size guide on Barbour is wrong..

Don't know.... My large is 22.5 pit to pit... And my XL tokito was 24.5

What's the main sizing differences between that and the original Tokito?

If you don't have a Barbour store nearby, I think J. Crew would be the best place to try one on in person. For online options, I bought both my To Ki To and Commander jackets from EndClothing.com. You could also try J. Crew's website, Kafka, or Royal Male.

I personally do not feel there is any size difference between the 2 jackets. I have 2 Larges, and they both fit the same. I know other posters have mentioned that the Commander feels looser than the TKT, but this might be due to minor differences between individual jackets.

Charmed & Dangerous

Barbour in Long Acre, Covent Garden in London, had several Commanders in stock today - all pretty much XL or XXL.

I'm not sure how long they will be there, a v helpful guy called Mark who runs the store said he thought there wouldn't be anymore made or available after his run. I'm not sure how accurate that is though. But best to be quick if you are after one. (Btw I'm not affiliated with them in any way!)

Got an email from Kafka, Barbour have released a new commander jacket in navy colour. Looks ok but I still prefer the olive with brown leather trim.

I feel the same way. I already have the original To Ki To and the olive Commander, so I don't really need another Barbour, but navy is my favourite colour for clothing, so if it ever goes on sale, I'd definitely be interested.

You know that really annoys me off I have emails to barbour when I was getting stuff done saying could they make the tokito jacket in a dark navy as I thought it would look really good, they refused but said they would pass it on.
Now they are doing the commander in navy.

IIRC, there was a navy version of the original Tokito (actually, an incredibly similar jacket) available in Japan IIRC. I saw a pic of it on the web before the connection to Skyfall was known. I really liked it, but it was not available for international shipment (or maybe it was, the website was in Japanese and the Google translation was as bad as any poorly subtitled action movie from the 70s).

Found the new navy Commander Jacket a nice change from the traditional olive...Still looks rather good and I think it's maybe a bit more wearable, less Barbour cliche.

Bought mine at John Anthony, they have the full sizing.
