I have a question about the buttons on the Istanbul suit. In a reent post on his site, Matt says the Istanbul suit has light brown horn buttons. Some pics I've seen bear that out. If so, are these a good match?
But in this publicity shot, the buttons look like translucent grey plastic. What do you guys think?
And if you blow up this one, looks like grey smoke colored? Thoughts?

I'll have to see if I can find the shots in the movie where they looked brown. They're towards the grey side of brown. But if that brown was only an effect of the lighting and the buttons actually are grey, then they would be plastic. Horn in lighter colours is always at least a little brown.

I'm thinking now that the brown might just be from the lighting. Even though the suit on eBay is not one of Daniel Craig's suits, his suit most likely has identical buttons. That suit on eBay has urea and not genuine horn. You can tell because the buttons are all identical. The buttons in the link from your previous post don't look particularly nice. I actually got some very similar urea buttons to the Tom Ford suit from a store in New York City a few years ago. I found these online, which may be close:

I bought a couple... One white and one blue. Very nice fit around the tie knot. Got a few of the TM Lewin tabs too, but fit a little too tight around the knot meaning youve got to really tighten it too much.... But hey, they were a tenth of the price !!!
Get loads of positive comments because they look different I guess.....

And does anyone have any local contact info for good TF associates stateside? I know Mario of TF is a good guy to deal with (Ive spoke to him several times but lost his contact info and the original email addy I have doesn't work).
The guys at the TF store in LA were not too much help when it came to the Bond suits (they were knowledgeable about the store's current stock, not so much on other pieces).

Happy to help, just been at TF London and they have confirmed that the Grey Sharkskin (TF Fabric code ORJB02) is still available as is the Grey Prince of Wales design (ORJB01). In relation to the navy blue small herringbone design they should be getting more stock soon, as well as the pinstripe.
Unfortunately I don't have any contacts stateside, but Paolo is the man to speak with in Italy, he is a specialist when it comes to MTM and Bespoke TF Suits.
In terms of off the peg vs MTM, the difference may be subtle on the suit but it will feel a lot more comfortable and suited to you. One thing I will say is trust the tailors, TF want to make sure that if you want a MTM suit that it fits well and to your shape. Granted it will be dearer, but at the end of the day you will have a suit that fits you well and is designed around you.
Nice to know the Prince Charles is still available.
I was in London for a few days last month but my mrs gave me such a big shopping list I never got around to any "male" shops and totally forgot about TD London

Looks good! I have a wedding coming up in a few months and not sure what tie to wear, I have the TF Istanbul but dont want to standout like a 007 wannabe by wearing the complete outfit )

There is no experimenting when it comes to buttoning suits.

And also 9 years later in Diamonds Are Forever! It looks awful because most button two jackets are not cut for the bottom button to be fastened.
The jacket is about an inch too short, but otherwise it looks pretty good!
Funnily enough I thought it might be an inch too long however was comparing to Skyfall and believe his is far too short?
Overall I'm very happy with it considering the risk I took (mail order). Very comfortable indeed however my experience of suits is pretty much zilch!
The suits in Skyfall are way too short and not flattering by any means. Quantum of Solace set a much better example for a well-fitting suit.
I'm ordering my second TF suit this week in the same material.
