Do Barbour offer alteration service for the Tokito jacket?

I went to several local tailor shops. They said it could be altered (remove the wind flap, etc) but it might damage the construction and ruin the jacket. I don't trust their skill so I decided to send it back to Barbour for a proper alteration. Has anyone done that before? Does Barbour offer such service?

From previous posts, I don't think Barbour do, but it's worth a shot. I had mine tailored last year by a lock tailor and, as long as they know what they're doing, it shouldn't be an issue...

Barbour do the alterations and prices are on the web site. It depends on the time of year, as to how long it would take. In Summertime, when the weather is warmer, they are obviously less busy, and would only take 2 weeks or so. Now Autumn is rolling in and jackets get more use, they are busier and it could take a couple of months to get the work done. Contact Barbour HQ directly, as some stores say that they can't do the alterations. You can have sleeves shortened, chest placket removed, buttons added, zip removed etc. Best to have all the work done in one go to reduce costs.

UK site is down for today for maintenance -

    http://www2.barbour.com/fr/contact-us

    http://www2.barbour.com/repairs-reproofing

But for most of Europe, you can use this link:

I haven't had my jacket altered yet, as I use it virtually every day! Was going to have it done over the summer, but couldn't part with it!

I sent a mail to barbour and here is the reply. Seems I have to go to a tailor

    Good morning

We would advise you take the jacket to a tailor to see if they can offer this alterations service as unfortunately it is not something we can do for you. I am sorry we cannot help you, but these alterations are not possible for our team to carry out.

The list of repairs and alterations we are able to carry out is available to view at http://www.barbour.com/static/cs_repair_reproofing_page This page is currently undergoing some maintenance but will be back up and running again soon

    Kind Regards

Very strange, as I'm sure members on here have had alterations done. Over in the States, Barbour altered Bugsy's jacket. Might be worth PMing him for more info.

Yes, Barbour do offer alteration services like shorten the sleeves or length the jacket. But things like removing the flap or removing the hood zipper are not on the list
