Hi guys.
Please forgive the shameless self promotion and if this is in any way breaking the rules, please take it down.
David Leigh, creator of the James Bond Dossier website, and myself have started a James Bond podcast that I thought members here may be interested to listen to.
In this episode David and myself introduce ourselves and have a chat about what we like and dislike in the Bond universe. Future shows will be more structured but we hope this will serve as a good introduction.

or on iTunes here: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/james-bond-podcast/id719768461
Again, apologies for the self promotion. Hope you enjoy the show

I'll be keeping an ear out for the next one.
after fighting so hard to get the role of 007 did GL walk away from it so
easily ?
Bad advice from his agent is the short answer I think. Although, other factors came into play too.
Thanks, Peppermill.
About Lazenby: I cannot say the advice of the agent was that bad. If you look at the way the movies became, it is still a miracle to me that they became so popular. Look at the quality difference between OHMM and TMWTGG (Sorry David). And who knows, maybe the series would have died if Lazenby stayed??
From what I read, Lazenby was an arrogant prick and he simply demanded more money. Also i read that in the contract, there were some draconian rules that Lazenby should keep to with his 7 movie contract: dress like Bond, all the girls he has dinner with, should be assessed first by the producers (go figure!) drive the right car etcetera. Although I would not mind living like Bond, it does seem very excessive.
1. Connery 2. Craig 3. Brosnan 4. Dalton 5. Lazenby 6. Moore
Thanks. We planned the first episode to be quite a general discussion and the following episodes will indeed be more in-depth. Next episode we are looking at William Boyd's Solo and Skyfall a year on
That's a good point actually. We have the benefit of hindsight and looking back his decision now seems stupid, but your quite right, at the time it probably wasn't as it now seems. The ridiculous success of the previous films was no guarantee of future success. I'll raise this point on the show, giving you credit for it of course.
Thanks, Peppermill. We certainly plan to keep it going.
Sounds good. -{ Good luck.
