Which Bond has the biggest female fanbase?

walther p99walther p99 NJPosts: 3,416MI6 Agent
Even though looks are subjective, which Bond actor has seemed to generate the most attraction from women? From what ive seen, Connery in the 60's caused a massive stir among women and apparently still does. In more recent times, i remember reading awhile back about Women constantly going back to see Goldeneye in theaters just to see Brosnan's pretty face. And most obviously, Craigs swim trunks scene made him an instant sex symbol, and possibly the first actor whose sex appeal is most flaunted in his films.

I can't understand it myself but Many women do seem
to find him very attractive. Although once again given
how popular the films were in the 60s, I'd have to go
    with Connery. Who even in his old age is still a sex symbol. -{

    At the moment, DC.

As for the others in their day... I've not been around long enough to say, but I'd guess:
Connery, then Moore, then Brosnan, then Lazenby, then Dalton. Could be wrong and probably am!

I'd have to say Brosnan. With Craig you either like him or you don't
(I personally don't get it). Brosnan had a female following before Bond. Personally, Dalton is the only Bond for me! ;%

I dont know any woman that likes Craig. And I dont think he is handsome either. Big ears, no lips, small eyes, boring hair. Just a strong body, but not a 'dry' muscular, just buff.

I think Connery was the ultimate sex symbol. Wasn't he considered sex symbol of the century? Brosnan is great looking also, he had his share of fans. Dalton probably had the least also because a lack of 'star presence.'

If it is fine to have a personal taste, why that remark and the rolling eyes? Some people fancy his looks, others don't.

My girlfriends favorite is Pierce Brosnan. My mother gets misty eyed by Dalton (see what I did there BT :))). But I believe Connery was voted sexiest man alive some years ago.

Let me start by saying that I haven't found any personal insults made by me in this tread or any other for that matter. Second, I don't think describing someones looks, in a somewhat negative way Ill give you that, is an insult.
Third, where are you when we are talking about Bond girls or Roger Moore?

Again, I was not the one who made the comments that you responded to the first time, so I still don't think I posted any insults.

And I am reffering to threads that rank favorites/least favorite films/Bond girls etc. where sometimes the comments can be pretty offensive as well.

Anyway, I´m not here to start an argument. I was just wondering what made Mr_Osato´s comment so terrible that made you respond in the way you did. Now I know.

in lieu of his many detractors you listed, he has those iconic eyes, that physique that alot of men worldwide want, and a chiseled, angular jawline. But I understand your point of view. Even though he's my favorite Bond, i admit there are certain scenes or shots throughout his 3 films where he just looks completely unflattering.

I think it's as much a generational thing as anything. Trying to find someone in her 20s now who finds Connery hot in his towelling robe and comb-over hair today (sorry for the exaggeration) is tough. They'll admit he was kind of hunky, but not many drool over him. DC is definitely hit-and-miss but I've seen tons of women go weak at the knees over him...or more correctly, over his Bond. His other characters don't tend to elicit the same response. The wardrobe, character and action definitely help.

I don't always read those as they tend to be rehashed threads from years ago...but if anybody thinks that someone is overstepping the mark, then they can contact me via PM...their comments will remain anonymous...

I'm with LoGabrielle that I think most women like Brosnan. I'm not going to add Connery to the mix because we can assume that every lady likes him (who doesn't?).

I like DC, mostly because I think he looks really good in a tailored suit. Most females that I have talked to don't like DC as Bond, some say they do not like his portrayal of Bond but most are upset by the color of his hair. ?:)

cant imagine why :)) I think it was in people magazine around the release of Goldeneye where Famke Janssen was gushing about Brosnan's looks and how female reporters who visited the set would be giggling like school girls.

I'd hazard a guess that actually some women hate/dislike him, because some of the things he did as bond come across as quite sexist (though more acceptable at that time). All the bonds come across as sexist I know, but Connery is the most obvious, examples being slapping tatiana's and dink's arse :))

Connery in real life has also been depicted as being a not-so-great person. I remember a youtube video of an interview with him, in that he says it's ok to hit a woman. I doubt many women liked him after that remark.

You make a good point about the fact that Connery's remarks and apparent attitude toward women has probably alienated many potential female fans. But just with respect to onscreen attractiveness and sex appeal, most of the women I know rank him No. 1. And a fairly large number of female Bond fans I am acquainted with rank Craig as No. 2 or 3. Also, it seems that Craig garnered a pretty significant female fan base after Casino Royale debuted (some are still swooning over his "emerging from the ocean" scene!)

As far as I can tell Brosnan is still pretty popular with the ladies. His films also had 90's politically correct female characters which seems to help smooth things over with the female audience.

Based on the 3 times I watched Goldfinger with a female (Mom, girlfriend, friend who is a girl) they were appalled by Connery's treatment of women. I suspect they still secretly like him though. :007)
