    Anybody reserved their NTTD Seamaster?

Despite not being a LE my old AD is only getting 4 initially so I have been allocated the last one of the first batch. Presume by the time the movie comes out supply wont be a issue

Everytime when you are posting this, I am getting upset!

Upset about me not grabbing a 5712 when they could be had for 27k and a $to € ratio of around 1,45 X-(

Guys any legal bods on here, Omega have offered me the NTTD upgrade or the pick of any watch up to that value.
    No cash will be offered.
Do I have to just accept this or where can I go ?
There argument is the current market value for an replacement is roughly that cost.
The OMEGA SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER is who I'm having to deal with.

Feel gutted and annoyed and I'm also getting no explanation why.
You get the feeling that there not really that bothered and Omega central who have made this decision, don't seem to be going that extra mile to make me feel a priority.
Haven't even had an official apology

It seems like a fair offer if the NTTD Seamaster is of interest.

Citizens Advice should be able to answer questions about the Consumer Act 2015

It is a fair offer BUT he wants the Spectre one as it's a limited run and personally it's a better watch. I will say that i am astounded by Omega's level of total indifference to Chris's situation especially when it's Omega and by extension the shippers fault. I know that there has been an issue in the Swiss watch industry where after sales service has been seriously lacking with long wait times and watches coming back with issues not resolved or further damage :# Considering the situation it makes me very wary to send my watch for service let alone buy one!

Of course, Omega does offer you that solution.
The production of a new watch costs them less than $1000, which is better than refunding you 10.000

They lost the watch, their duty to replace the lost item, that‘s my advise.

Stick to your guns and strongly request they source a SP 300 for you. They should have insured it for the full amount with the courier, and not your fault if they didn’t. And if they did, they will get compensation for the full amount, so why should you not be? You should not have to settle for a watch design you don’t like or want.

I do hope it works out for you - not much of an endorsement for Omega customer service I have to say.

Question regarding Omega boxes for those who know more about it than me: Would the 'original' box for a 2011 Omega PO 2501.00.00 (the 42mm QoS model) have been the red leather square box or the rectangular wooden box? Grateful if someone could enlighten me please. Thanks!

    Thanks, thought as much!

I've just got the watch from Watchfinder and it's come with the wooden box which I didn't think was right. Everything else seems to match up (serial number on the watch, cards, watermark etc) so I'm guessing whoever they bought the watch from sent it with the wooden box not the red leather one. I'll grab a red leather one and get shot of the wooden one......

This is around the time I picked up my two 6538’s, 6536-1 and proto Comex. The Comex was the most by far at £5900, I think. It was from a really amazing antiques shop just off Bond St that was a favourite haunt of mine. It was there for years and had some amazing pieces at half the price of Royal Arcade and the usual suspects in the area like Duggans and Burlington’s dealers.

That would be pretty stunning for a Comex nowadays wouldn’t it? When was that?

Not as stunning as the others. This was between 97-99, I got the 6536-1 later, around 2002

Chris... not technically a legal expert by any stretch.. ( I started law school while working full time as a detective in our Auto Theft task force years ago.. balancing law school at night and working a full detective's case load by day AND having a family proved a little taxing to say the least.. So I only have half a law degree.. So take this with half a grain of salt ! :)) ) In the end, as its a civil loss .. the idea is that they simply have to "make you whole" again. There is a distinct difference between a LE watch and a general release in terms of long term value. So there is a clear argument there with comparing today's price tag and (granted speculating) what values will look like 5 years from now being quite different and not an equitable offer on their part. It does not seem unreasonable to source a certified SPECTRE LE and have them give it a once over and insure that it is in as good or better condition than the watch you left in their care. Them saying they will give you the new one as a replacement since the current pricing is about even is like someone offering to replace your mint 1967 Ford Mustang they destroyed with a brand new 2019 Ford Taurus because they both run in the mid $20k range... When 5 years from now you won't be able to dump that Taurus for $12k
