Does anyone own/have owned or know much about Hamilton watches? One of their chronos has taken my eye but don’t really know too much about the brand or their pieces...even though they’ve been around for over a century.
    I used to have the Ventura model watch. It was the one in Men in Black and also, I hear Elvis wore one. It was a cool, unique watch. Company made a lot of military model watched during the Railroad era, every piece I've seen personally has been pretty decent quality. They have a military reissue on Hodinkee that caught my eye. But wondering for the same money, I could probably fine a real vintage military JLC, Omega, or Tudor. But overall, I was happy with mine. I had it about 5 years ago, so will look for pics, but can't find any on this phone. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helped -{

I would say they are great watches at an affordable price. Many of their models "played" in some movies. They just released the Interstellar "Murph" watch I found really cool......
I think it is maybe an understated brand !!!

And I just saw that Hamiltons were worn by Bond in LALD, Leiter in QOS and M in SF, so the brand has a pretty solid Bond connection as well...which I probably should’ve known already, especially with Moore’s LALD Pulsar—didn’t realise that was a Hamilton.

They were an American-produced brand until the late 60s, after which the brand changed hands once or twice and is now owned by Swatch.

Their former factory is on the National Register of Historic Places and still stands in Lancaster, PA - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamilton_Watch_Complex

Hi everyone - not sure if this is the right spot but figured I’d ask:

I am looking to sell this watch:

    27-EE2527-00-CB-4-FAB-97-A1-52477561-A793.jpg

Because I’ve found that I am always wearing this watch (shown here on the Spectre nato but regularly switch to the original rubber band or steele strap).

Any recommendations on the best places to sell (besides Chrono24)?

Might get some luck selling it on here?
  • UNCLE27UNCLE27 EnglandPosts: 1,144MI6 Agent
    You’ll regret selling it...
If you don’t have to sell it, don’t.

Anyone know where I can purchase a shark mesh bracelet to fit the Planet Ocean. I think I need the 22mm version. I believe Omega had the shark cage mesh and proplof versions but haven’t been able to find. Would consider a reasonable non-OEM alternative, too.

This guy does ramble on a bit but this is an interesting well illustrated journey through Bond’s watches.

They are lovely, congratulations- and well deserved!

I keep getting tempted by various Seikos; the Seiko 5 range has so many nice ones. Check out the SNX123

Very tasteful sort of Explorer 1-ish looks for absolute peanuts! I'd grab one but I just got myself a nice Bellmatic which needs a little work and I love it.

As I'm so far very disappointed with NNTD clothes, I have spent my budget into Roger Moore era Seikos.
Interestingly, prices of these quartz watches are going up.
I was influenced by the re-release of Orlebar Brown.
